Ben Carson is moving up in the world.  He's suddenly getting invites for the Sunday morning political shows:

It's funny you said that - my parents were watching him on Hannity tonight, and I joined in to listen to him. Funny enough, someone asked him what was the first thing he'd do if elected President in 2016 and he actually gave a serious answer.

If anyone is bored, go like Rand Paul on FB and read the comments he's getting from folks. Very entertaining.

Rand Paul just shared this link on his Facebook page, for what it's worth.

People underestimate it, but Romney does have a pretty strong base of support.

If by strong, you mean rich then yes, if you mean Romney could bring one votes by granting his seal of approval, I would be skeptical.
I know that personally, Mitt Romney endorsing a candidate would weigh heavily on my decision, and I'm pretty involved with the campaign. I'd bet it would also have an effect on many others who were supporters of Romney through the primary and might not pay as closely attention to the process. Romney certainly has more loyal supporters than any of the other 2012 candidates, by a longshot IMO.

Gingrich recently said that he wouldn't rule out another presidential run in 2016.  Well, he does now have a new day job that he'd have to leave in case he runs again.  He's signed with CNN to co-host the relaunched version of Crossfire:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2013/06/cnn-announces-crossfire-relaunch-167110.html?hp=l12

(The signing of Gingrich had rumored for some time, but is just now being officially confirmed.)

Hmm. I'm surprised he's not doing a show on The History Channel.

Dean and Santorum will practice their debating skills when they debate each other on "The Proper Role of Government in a Free Society" at Fort Hays State University in Kansas next month:

That's awesome - I might try and attend that.

Bernie Sanders would make an excellent third-party candidate in 2016!

Mike Pence (R-IN) was on Daily Rundown and when asked if he might run for prez in 2016 he said he was "committed to make sure that Indiana continues to grow" and then went on to tout all of his accomplishments in Indiana, when pressed he would not rule out a prez run

Well, we know he wants to be President. As the field continues to weaken, I wouldn't be surprised if he tested the waters sometime early in 2015 - the ballot deadline in Indiana for the primary is the second week of February I believe, so he would be tight on time.

$225,000 could pay the in-state tuition for nearly 40 students at UNLV. Perhaps the problem with our college system today is that $225,000 is considered "a drop in the bucket."

Mitt Romney met with his family at Saginew Lake a few day ago, and it is rumored that the discussion of 2016 came up.

Source?
Someone mentioned it on FOX News last night - I want to say O'Reily. I saw folks discussing it earlier in the Mitt 2016 group page.

Bob Dole is making another statewide tour through Kansas - he has had several in the past year. With signs indicating that the Kansas caucus may be more relevant in 2016 than in past elections, could this be a sign that Senator Dole is gearing up for one more run?
