Doesn't really bother me personally, so long as the update is thorough with what's happened in the last year. Though maybe we should first see what Tmth has to say since he's Bloomberg here.

I would be happy to jump forward! And besides, we can always go with what Spamage did in the 1824-1832 game, asking questions to the President and then writing the Presidential term.

One thing I should mention, the bill is not what Bloomberg wanted, but is the best he could get with the radicals on the left.

Do I not have a say on what's in the health care law? Tongue

Statements on various issues:
- Beginning in July 2010, the Department of Justice announces it will no longer seek the death penalty on most civilian cases. President Bloomberg announces that they will begin a push for the death penalty abolished at the state and federal level.

Since the death penalty was re-instated in 1973, over 80 inmates on death row have been taken off after a wrongful conviction. I have spoken to Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals, and moderates and libertarians on this issue. This has support across party lines, whether it be due to the heavy financial burden associated with the death penalty, the inhumane treatment, or the threat of innocent indiduals being put to death. This is an issue that we hope to inform and persuade the American People on. I am confident we will.

- Our administration's top priority is creating an economic recovery, which is why we are pushing for a stimulus package that provides aid to small businesses, creates thousands of infrastructure and transportation jobs, and provides incentives to employers to create new jobs.

- Education remains a critical priority for President Bloomberg, which is why he has approved delegating various responsibilities back to the state and local levels. Bloomberg has pushed for the "Race to the Top", and is pushed to lower the student loan rate to 1%.

- Bloomberg has implemented military reductions in Iraq, and has promised for a full withdrawal by 2011.

The surge implemented by President Bush has worked - we have found success and stability in Iraq. We will continue to wind down our military presence there, with the final stage ending in February 2011. Our administration is focused now on Afghanistan, finding Osama Bin Laden, and defeating Al Qaeda. We WILL win the War on Terror.

Rick Perry Campaign Schedule: July 1-10

July 1-5
-Gubernatorial duties

July 6
-Meeting with Texas Farmers Union in Waco, TX
-Town Hall in Waco, TX

Farmers are an essential part of the state, and to see you all hit by droughts in recent years is truly disheartening, not just for your livelihoods, but for how crop yields affect everybody else. Rest assured the agricultural community has a friend in Rick Perry. I used to serve as the state Commissioner of Agriculture and I dealt with these issues firsthand. This will continue to be a high priority on my administration's agenda.

July 7
-Meeting with Texas Chamber of Commerce in Austin, TX
-Rally and Fundraiser in Austin, TX

Over the last ten years, the state of Texas has gained almost a million jobs while the US as a whole is set to lose about a million jobs. This just goes to show that Texas is an economic powerhouse, and I'm quite proud of this record. We can keep on forging the path to prosperity together.

The Reform Party candidate seems to be peeling away some of my support in the polls. There's nothing to fret about so far because we're still leading by quite a comfortable margin, but we need to really emphasize my accomplishments in office to bring back those voters.

President Bloomberg's Schedule:

July 1st - 3rd:
Presidential Duties

July 4th:
Independence Day Festivities

July 5th:
Fundraising for Reform Party

July 6th:
Speech in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Infrastructure Repairs
Town Hall Meeting in Hoboken, New Jersey

Unemployment is over 10%, and due to a broken Congress, we have been unable to pass sufficient legislation to tackle this problem. In just a few days, I will be meeting with Republican and Democratic leaders and will be unveiling new legislation to create thousands of infrastructure jobs throughout America. This not only needs to be done to create jobs, but it also needs to be done for safety reasons. Please call or write to your local representatives and urge them to support this crucial legislation.

July 7th:
Appearance on Nickelodeon Summer Bash in California
Appearance on "Good Morning LA"

July 8th:
Fundraising for Reform Party in California

July 9th:
Presidential Duties
Meeting with GOP and Democratic Leaders on Infrastructure Package

July 10th:
Depart for European Tour

Sorry, Jerry, but I'm butting in here. It would make a bit of sense of "Mike" actually had a say in what "Mikecare" does.

Mikecare is similar to Obamacare, though there are differences. The set standards for Mikecare are lower, allowing more Americans to keep their plan than under Obamacare. Bloomberg also includes a conservative provision that allows individuals to cross state lines, promising that this will help lower costs for many, especially in smaller states. The bill also tackles tort reform, which Bloomberg also believes will drive the costs down. In the end, Bloomberg's message is that this bill will bring health insurance for the remaining 15% who are unemployed, while also including provisions that will lower premiums for the rest.

Newt Gingrich Schedule: Back to the spotlight!

From July 1st to July 10th, 2010:

-Rent a building in Washington D.C. to host the Gingrich staff (jokingly referred as "Newtworld") and the Gingrich foundation (that makes films and books).
-Write a new epilogue for "The Conservative Dream" (that was never published).
-Calling potential candidates, donors and incumbents to devise a new strategy.
-Hold meetings with Eric Cantor and the GOP leadership (as always).
-Write an Op-ed for "The Washington Post":

Excerpt:

"When I spoke to the Republican Party after the 2008 Election, I spoke of our chance to retake what we lost in 2010. And I think time has proven me right, since Republicans are ahead in the ballot, and we are ready to go. President Bloomberg has reached across the aisle many times, and many people here in the party are thankful for his compromise in health care reform that allowed conservative provisions in the bill.

However, and despite what his approval ratings show, I don't think we can him a sucessful president. When our troops leave Iraq despite hollow promises of winning the War on Terror after the attack on Times Square, when unemployment stays at 11 percent, when a new party comes out of nowhere to create a political mess, you just know that all of that was not meant to be.

We need change, but not the kind of chance that promises the "outsider" view. I have sympathy for the Reform Party at some levels, but we need people with actual experience to do the job, and the Republican party is the only choice to deliver that. When you go to vote in November to send someone to Congress to represent you, you have to think on what's best for the country.

This November, please vote Republican."

Press Conference in Atlanta, Georgia:
July 1st:

Reporter N°1: Mr. Speaker, what is the purpose of this conference?
Gingrich: Well, I wanted to speak on what will happen with the midterms. As you know, many people requested me to run for Senate after my 2008 Presidential campaign, and I thought about it, despite the fact that I would have involved a primary against a sitting Senator. But I decided not to, so I will not run for Senate this year.
Reporter N°2: Does that mean that you will run for President next year?
Gingrich: Woah, let's not get ahead of ourselves yet. I'm interested in the idea, yes, and polling shows I would have a lot of support, but I'm more interested in the midterms right now.
Reporter N°3: What are you going to do then?
Gingrich: I want to be a crusader this time, and I'll be travelling around the country with my staff to help other Republicans. This is the perfect storm for a comeback, and our party has the opportunity to regain what we lost.
