-Sofres poll, 26 and 27 january 2005, size: 1000

1) Do you trust in Jacques Chirac to resolve the problems in France?

yes: 37 (-4)
no: 59 (+3)
Don't know: 4 (+1)

2) Do you trust in Jean Pierre Raffarin (PM) to resolve the problems in France?

yes: 29 (-1)
no: 67 (-1)
Don't know: 4 (+2)

The rest of the poll is just... useless.

-To be honest, another poll institute (CSA, 19 january/900) gives a contrary result with the same question:

1)  Do you trust in JAcques Chirac to resolve the problems in France?

yes: 52% (-1)
no: 45% (+3)
Don't know: 3% (-2)

2) Do you trust in Jean Pierre Raffarin to resolve the problems in France?

yes: 38%
no: 59%
Don't know: 3%

-And if you take another poll institute (Ifop, 13-21 january/1800) but with a different question, you have:

1) Are you satisfied or not with Jacques Chirac as President?

yes: 49 (-1)
no: 49 (+2)
don't know: 2% (-1)

2) Are you satisfied or not with Jean Pierre Raffarin as PM?

yes: 32 (-2)
no: 49 (+2)
don't know: 2 (-1)

That unpopular?  When are the next elections?

Last elections were in 2004. Next will be in 2007 (presidential election and legislatives). But to win the presidential election, you must have a program and not only say: "government is bad, vote for opposition" (as in 2004). Hence, right (Chirac or/and Sarkozy)  can still win in 2007.
