Low Democratic turnout costs Miles some Northeastern, Midwestern, and Western states, but his performance in the South puts him way over the top.

Mitt Romney 302 Electoral Votes
Spenstar 3D 236 Electoral votes
I think Romney would have the edge on you, with a lot of moderates.

Barack Obama 256

Over performance in the Northeast, and a more northern strategy has Matt get a bigger Northeast result than Mitt had in November.

Against Obama, the same map as Romney. Against Romney, he would win the South, but he'd lose most of the West (anything north or west of Kansas would go Romney) and I think IN and NC would vote Romney as well.

Ignoring how little sense it makes for me to run against Romney, why do I do better in the socially conservative South and worse in the libertarian-leaning West?

It doesn't. Jerryarkansas posted a map about you and then deleted it for some reason. *SKIP*

The centrist wing of the Democratic Party, unhappy with President Obama's chances following the 2010 midterm blowout, successfully convince Governor-elect Scott of Connecticut to consider a presidential bid against the incumbent in the upcoming primaries. Young, energetic and supported by the party's fiscal conservatives and it's social liberals (many of whom are upset with Obama for his stances on civil liberties, marriage equality, and tepidness on abortion rights), the Governor announces a bid for the Democratic nomination in July 2011 to the chagrin of the White House.

Though Obama is favored in the outset, continued weak economic results combined with left and right wing fatigue among fellow Democrats allows Governor Scott to outmaneuver the President with a victory in the New Hampshire primary. Building from there, Scott manages to wrap up the nomination and force the President out of the race by June 2012.

Governor Scott announces former Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal as his running mate shortly before the Democratic convention. Going into the general election, the likeable Scott prevails over the robotic Romney in the debates, while his running-mate successfully dispatches Congressman Paul Ryan. In the end, the election turns out to be a wash for the Democratic Party, which gains seats in the Senate and comes close to winning back control of the House of Representatives.

Gary Johnson performs much better than he did IOTL here, tipping Indiana, Montana, and Alaska into Gov. Scott's column.

Faced with two black candidates, Southern racists of course flock to the Democratic Party.
