Uh, I think the chronic lying about it, even after claiming he knows it's wrong, is in his past and has sought help, is what is concerning people about his mental state.

Why is this a good thing?  Harry Belafonte is nuts and Yvette Clark famously thought the Dutch controlled New York City and practiced slavery in 1898.

De Blasio will probably come in (a distant) second among blacks with Weiner in third.

Yeah Weiner was actually winning blacks according to the polls before the new sexting scandal hit. Not really sure why blacks like Weiner so much (probably because he was the most well known anti-Quinn) but hopefully a lot of that vote shifts to de Blasio now (who's also received the endorsement of the 1199 SEIU, which I assume is mostly minorities).

Not to mention de Blasio has basically put his his black wife and black children in every single advertisement for his candidacy.

What's the knock on Thompson? For someone who came so close last time, he gets little attention in comparison.

Well, it was sort of shocking that he came so close and his support was mostly based around Anti Bloomberg feelings. I remember a week or so before the election, I think the New York Times ran a story on how disastrous Thompson's campaign was and how everyone was bracing for a landslide loss.

That is the best thing ever:

"'We all are freaky. He just exposed his freaky-ism in the wrong way,' McMillan said."

"'If you need another woman, I can help you get another woman if that’s what you need,' he said. '(Weiner) created a character called ‘Carlos Danger.’ Ooh, that is a marketing bonanza … He can put a hat on a dildo and call himself ‘Carlos Danger.’ Everyone will get it for someone just as a gift. He can make a billion dollars out of that in one month.'"

Joe Lhota is the most likely Republican nominee, and there isn't any strong Independent in the race.

He's the Bloombergite Republican who's spending some of his billion dollar fortune to buy the Pubbie nomination. He already won the Liberal Party nomination.
