Jack Dorsey, creator of Twitter, is "serious" about about a run for mayor. I doubt he'd do it this year though.

Weiner has been spotted filming a campaign ad. He's in.

Reading about how Weiner built his career on disgusting race baiting and then lied about only reinforces my hate for him. Anyone who thinks this guy is a 'progressive' is either stupid or just doesn't care.

Or just looks at him and thinks "Jon Stewart's friend."

To top everything off: Weiner spent $43K of campaign money in 2011 to investigate who hacked his Twitter account.

Which is extra stupid when you remember that he made up the "hacking" story.

Who are the independents/republicans running?

Who is this guy John katsimatides that keeps putting radio ads out. I cant drive to work without hearing 1 every friggin day.

Joe Lhota is the most likely Republican nominee, and there isn't any strong Independent in the race.

If, after all the dumb but entertaining things that defined this race, de Blasio comes out as the winner then this will probably be one of my favorite elections of all time.

The new Marist poll (Taken on behalf of the WSJ and NBC) essentially confirms Quinnipac's findings. From their previous poll, Quinn is down 2 and de Blasio is up 7.

Bill de Blasio - 24%
Christine Quinn - 24%
Bill Thompson - 18%
Anthony Weiner - 11%
John Liu - 5%

de Blasio's surge is partially due to black support, as he has moved from 10% support to 20% support among African-Americans with Thompson taking the majority of the rest.

de Blasio beats Quinn in a runoff 44-42, Thompson 44-36. Thompson also beats Quinn 44-43.

And because people forget that the Republicans ARE trying to win this: Joe Lhota is dominating the Republican primary and will likely be the nominee.

Quinn trying to paint de Blasio and his wife as bigots in order to hide her roboticness is a absolutely retarded strategy. And one more reason to hate Christine Quinn.

What does anyone see in Christine Quinn?

I actually don't understand the hate here towards Christine Quinn... She's willing to take unpopular stands.

They probably don't like her because of her unpopular stands. Most politicians loose because their stands are unpopular. This is how elections work.

Also, Quinn is unpopular for allowing Bloomberg to get a 3rd term. And in case you haven't noticed, Bloomberg isn't exactly popular on this forum. Quinn would be the closest thing to Bloomberg's 4th term.

Joe Lhota is the only candidate who would prefer kittens being run over to delayed subway trains so far, for the record.

Wow, Lhota's gaining momentum.

If he had an extra year to campaign, it might even be close.
