New Q-poll:

First Round:
Weiner 26%
Quinn 22%
Thompson 20%
De Blasio 15%
Liu 7%
Albanese 1%

Thompson would beat Quinn and Weiner by 9% and 11% in a run-off. In a Quinn-Weiner runoff, Quinn leads 46 to 44.

In the Q-poll, if Weiner drops out it's Quinn 30%, Thompson 26%, de Blasio 21%. So he'd be in with a decent shot. Minority candidates usually do better than their polling in NYC elections, so a Thompson-de Blasio runoff would be interesting (and possible).

De Blasiomentum, according to Marist!

Among likely Democratic primary voters:

Quinn 26%
De Blasio 17%
Weiner 16%
Thompson 15%
Liu 7%

Unless Weiner magically recovers, I think Thompson is basically guaranteed to get into the runoff off the strength of the black vote (and even based on polls pre-second scandal, Thompson still had a good shot of coming in second). I think the question is whether or not de Blasio can pick up enough of the Weiner vote to challenge Quinn for the other spot (probably not, but we can hope).

Yeah Weiner was actually winning blacks according to the polls before the new sexting scandal hit. Not really sure why blacks like Weiner so much (probably because he was the most well known anti-Quinn) but hopefully a lot of that vote shifts to de Blasio now (who's also received the endorsement of the 1199 SEIU, which I assume is mostly minorities).

GAME CHANGE

De Blasio 30%
Quinn 24%
Thompson 22%
Weiner 10%
Liu 6%
Albanese 1%

De Blasio 54
Quinn 38

De Blasio 50
Thompson 41

De Blasio 72
Weiner 22 (lol)

Pretty good chance that Quinn comes in third at this point, especially as New York polls usually underestimate minority turnout.

Today I found out that when I registered in NY state last year I picked no party for some damn fool reason, and I won't be able to vote in the primary as a result. Sad

I think I'm allowed to the vote in the Independence Party primary though?

Weiner is a good politician and has great positions (though this anti-nanny state nonsense is annoying), as he showed tonight. Too bad he's a creepy sex addict pervert and everyone knows what his penis looks like.

Wonderful news! That would be great if we could avoid a run-off, but I doubt it'll happen. Looking more and likely that we'll have a de Blasio-Thompson faceoff.
