I'd likely have just sat it out and let it run its course between these two and then thrown my support to the winner in the election.

It would have made Hillary look really bad, and give her negative ratings again. I vote Obama.

Hillary in 2008; Hillary in 2012; Hillary in 2016. Smiley

The notion that she would have challenged Obama as sitting President in 2012 is totally absurd however. She'd have to be a completely different person.

None of the above. Imperalistic warmonger vs the person who implemented his policies. Choice?

Have people forgotten how terrible Hillary is just because she got a plum job and can look "above the fray"? Sad

This would not happen, and if it did, I would stick with the incumbent. No reason to switch horses in the middle of the stream.

Wouldn't matter, Barack would win the nomination and lose the general if he had a significant primary challenge.

She's also excessively overhyped. More overhyped than Mark Warner and Martin O'Malley combined.

It's what always happens with Secretaries of State. Democrats who dislike Clinton, and Republicans who fear her, would do well to look her approval ratings. She's not a "polarizing figure" any more, not even close to one. She's one of the most uniting figures in politics now. The best way to rehabilitate a politician is to make them Secretary of State. (Remember how much more popular Condoleeza Rice was than the rest of the Bush administration? Ask yourself... Why? After all, Bush was unpopular first and foremost for his foreign policy!)

Again: SoS' usual popularity doesn't automatically translate into an electoral strenght. She's popular and noncontroversial now because she's not involved in politics (cabinet officers are legally prohibited from participating in any partisan and electoral business). If she's no longer the SoS and if she gets involved in the direct politics again it unlikely to hold.
