I'm not registered in the IDS, but I am very much againat Ben Kenobi's recall, even if he supported secession.  I also just came back from voting for At-Large Senate and I encourage all of you who haven't yet voted to do so and make sure our party's candidates win!

Thanks, Oldiesfreak- I agree... I do not support secession and find talk of it here immature at best- but Kenobi quickly corrected the issue and that is the important detail here

Currently it's 9-6 Hagrid-Spamage. Let's try to keep the numbers of 1st preferences roughly even.

Now that we have our two elected Senators- it is time to move on to other business... we need to adopt a party color and we need to elect permanent leadership...

Party Color- I have seen burnt orange and navy proposed- but I will open official nominations for 24 hours followed by a vote...I also believe we may have to vote on our bylaws

On another note, I will be running for Chairman

Red orange apparently isn't coded for in the software, so I withdraw it in favor of orange.

Weren't you going to call for changes to the bylaws?

Thanks for reminding me- I will put that into amendment form so the proposal is ready when we finish the color

I support orange...it is distinctive

Clarence, you've been exactly what this party needs. You've been timely with votes, you've been accommodating of all members, you've been fantastic at running much of our GOTV efforts... Honestly, we wouldn't have been able to do as well as we did without you. I hope everyone will give you their support so that you can continue doing the great work you've been doing. Smiley Best of luck!

As for colour... I do like the orange.

I went with red orange because that is the color I associate with the Federalist party the most. It was what was used on wikipedia for those Presidential elections. I haven't checked recently so I don't know if it still is. Jefferson's DR's were Green and the Whigs were Purple. It fit to nicely to not propose red orange. Orange was used for the 1812 map to distinguish DeWitt Clinton's candidacy, so I guess it's all good.

I would also like to echo Hagrid's sentiments. Smiley

Plus Southern monopolization of the leadership posts tends to work well from my experience. Wink

Check this out.  "Red Orange" (the Crayola color) has its hex code there, and so do a lot of other similar colors.  I still like red-orange, but I would be good with orange too.

I will be taking a whirl on a buddy's airboat this afternoon followed by a sunset luau on the beach (the hard life of a retiree...) so I will ask Vice Chairman PiT or Secretary Oldiesfreak to please close nominations for the party color after 24 hours (around 2pm) followed by opening a 24 hour vote...so we can keep things moving along

I can't get the link to work.

Does that allow for it to be coded for on the site? If so, then I would like to pursue red-orange. I only withdrew it because I didn't think it could work.

I guess it's time to close the color nominations. I don't see the issue with more choice over less, so I will go with a broad interpretation of what was proposed, if there are no complaints.

This vote is open for 24 hours:

[ ] Burnt orange
[ ] Navy blue
[ ] Orange
[ ] Pumpkin
[ ] Red-orange

Is this a preferential vote?

Also, can someone please clarify whether there is a way to code for red orange on this forum?

If you don't mind me popping in, I don't think there's a way to code it, but Labor uses Maroon as it's official color, but uses Red in Election Trackers, etc, so I don't believe it matters. Smiley

Really, I thought it was officially red. Why didn't you guys use darkred?

Other people are voting like it's FPTP, so I suppose that's the way it goes.
