This is the inaugural convention to select our party color, as well as our bylaws and platform. I will now be allowing nominations for the bylaws and platform committees- with 3 members each to draft the documents to present to the party as  awhole for a vote...

If it is alright with the membership- I will allow these committees to stand as they are listed above... I don't believe we need to have an election to eliminate one contender for the Platform committee. I ask SJoyceFla to send a message to the members of the Platform committee with me CC'd and Goldwater to do the same to me and NC Yankee for the Bylaws committee so we can get on with electing a chair and dividing duties...

The next issue before us is the vote in the IDS Emperor race... we have two fine candidates- but as PiT is a member of our party and has done an excellent job, I believe it is our proud duty to endorse him...

I ask a party member to move for unanimous consent to endorse PiT for Emperor...

I will now take nominations for endorsements for the Senate race...clearly we will be supporting Hagrid, Goldwater, and Spamage- I nominate all three. I would also like to commend Mr. X for reaching out across party lines to request an endorsement and I nominate him

I am happy to announce that I've appointed Oldiesfreak1854 as Interim Party Secretary to help me and PiT lead our party in the December elections to get our Senators elected...I thank him for stepping up

Guys we have 4 people running from our own party. I think we can't really endorse anyone else at this point.

Party Members-

With the agreements of the candidates, recognizing the difficulty of having too many nominees- we will be having a party primary. The candidates have agreed to endorse Hagrid for reelection and he will carry our official party endorsement. There will be two days before we hold a 24-hour vote on the other one of our candidates to endorse, after which we will hold an endorsement vote for non-party candidates

I ask Spamage, Goldwater, and JCL to make their case to the party via speeches, messages, you name it...

Isn't 24 hours kind of short for such an important vote?

I gave plenty notice before the candidates' speeches and for the candidates to reach out as well as for party members to reach out to them-however if the party wants future votes to be longer, I will make them so...

With a majority of voters, Spamage is our party's nominee for Senate along with Hagrid- congratulations and good luck! It is now our obligation as Federalists to support these gentlemen and get them elected to the Senate. I thank Goldwater and JCL and encourage them both to seek office again soon- I would personally like to thank Goldwater for his selfless move to endorse Hagrid for the position, and believe it showed grace and class- and I thank JCL for his advocacy always on behalf of our ideology
