I think Reginald and Maurice would be white and upper middle class in England. Funny that they are considered black in the US.

Poor people give their children upper class names because they think it'll help them advance in life. But they're always about a generation behind the newest upper class naming trends.

Baby name selection process:

1. Is it a European regnal name post-1650?

If yes:

2. Is it spelt in the most common way?

If yes:

3. Does it look or sound ugly?

If no:

4. Is it in the top twenty names for the gender in the past decade?

If no:

5. Is it outside the most common 200 names for the past decade?

If no:

6. Does it work with your surname/initials?

If yes:

You have a potential name.

I'm not sure you have any names left by this point, though.

George, unless you feel it fails point three, makes it.

Borderline (not to mention: a name I would advise the British royal family against using ever again), but I'll let it pass. And for a girl?

Took me a while to find one, but...

Alicia, Queen of Navarre.

Which could either be Alicia, or Alice.

also (all between 21-99 Australian baby girl names, I don't have the full list):

Elizabeth (obv.)

Anna (Queen consort of Russia)
Alexandra (Queen consort of Britain, Empress consort of India)
Amelie (Queen consort of Portugal)
Victoria (surprised it made the list, but, it did)
Stephanie (Queen consort of Portugal)

see, heaps of choice! Tongue

More boys:

Oscar (King of Sweden)
Henry (King of...well there have been a fair few in pretty much all of Europe)
Michael (of Romania)
Joseph (of Portugal, also Joseph Bonaparte)
Nicholas (of Montenegro)
Edward (of Britain)
Jaxon (of Souvlakia)
George came in at number 70
Charles
David (of Imereti...)
Christian (Dansk)
John (the fourth of Portugal lasted until 1656, phew)

The Portuguese have been a significant help, it must be said.
