I take it you'd prefer he be indefinitely detained.

Well, considering who the neighboring states are, that's not much of a problem.

On a more serious note, as crazy as Oklahoma is, this is a still a better result than sending a 17-year old to prison for ten or more years.

Ah, yes, the far left. Loyally anti-war up until it comes time to kill millions of people to get rid of a state that thinks differently to them.

For once we're in agreement. The sentence is silly, but objectively better than some alternatives.

(Although this would not be the sentence for me. I'd be liable to go insane, overwhelmed by the deluge of fantasy nonsense.)

Yeah, all that carnage and mayhem on the streets of Athens during the last years has made me a bit callous.

hi.

BTW, the absurdity of this and many other things makes me kind of sad to have been born in this state, but I still like Oklahoma.

If the guy agreed to it (some kind of plea bargain?), then what's the problem?

There really is no problem with it but I am pretty sure that it could be come something that is disturbing in the future.

Meh. Nothing here is really surprising anymore. Plus, living in Muskogee is a sufficient punishment already.

Bizarre.

Also, ten years (as a possibility anyhow) for a traffic accident? How badly was he driving to cause that accident? Huh

Someone convicted of manslaughter should go to jail, yes.

Far northeastern NM is just an empty field.  Nothing would be lost.

That I can't deny.  Traveling along Highway 64 from I-35 in Northern Oklahoma through Northwestern Oklahoma through the Oklahoma Panhandle and over to I-25 in Northeastern New Mexico is one llloooonnngggg drive.  It's about a 7 hour drive and you have three cities - Enid (45,000), Alva (4,800), Guymon (12,000).  The other little puny towns are just as important as New York City and Los Angeles, but they sure are boring to go through.

Am I the only one around here who would rather DC & NYC be destroyed than Oklahoma & Texas?
