NC-Sen: As school started up this year, McCrory welcomed teachers back to the classroom and told them about their 5.5% raise. Wait, what!? At the debate Tillis, kept mouthing off about a "7%" pay raise...

And, here we have a good look the real impact of Tillis' horrendous tenure:

NC-09: Though there's really no election here, as Pittenger is unopposed, he's still making news, and not in a positive way:

LA-Sen: This is actually one of the better write-ups on Cassidy I've read and I recommend it. Demcoratic startegists, though, are pointing to an, er, ungainly, analogy he made about Harry Reid:

Edit: Oh, how bout that; its not just Democratic strategists. Maness is now asking Cassidy to apologize for the plantation comment:

LA-05: Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo got the endorsement (nomination) of the LADP.

NC-Sen: Big Dog Alert! Bill Clinton will be going to NC for Hagan.

LA-Sen: 'Hat tip to Never. This is a very good article on Landrieu. A conservative Nationl Review writer discusses his relationship with her over the years. 'Very good read.

NC-2016: Despite rumors, it sounds like Burr is leaning against retirement.

LA-Sen: The SOS office estimates turnout will be between 45-50%. Presidential turnout in 2008 and 2012 was 67% but fell to 44% in '10. In 2002, the best bench mark for this year, it was 49% in general and dropped off slightly for the runoff.

More LA-Sen: Why isn't Jindal getting involved in the Senate race? Its probably in the state GOP's best interest; Jindal is still toxic even in conservative areas of the state. A Cassidy endorsement would surely be a net negative. Jindal is too busy visiting other states to worry about lowly Louisiana, anyway.

NC-Sen: Sabato has moved NC back to Lean Democratic from Tossup. His main reasons are 1) Tillis has unusually high unfavorabeles for a challenger and 2) Hagan's resiliency.

NC-Polling: Though Hagan has held leads in recent polls, this is exactly the time that she herself, as a challenger, started to pull away. On September 18th, 2008 Hagan opened up a 6-point lead on Liddy Dole. Of the remaining 8 polls of that election, Hagan led in all but one. If Tillis is gonna come back, he needs momentum, and soon.

In response to Hagan's lead, Republicans have pointed to Burr's 2004 race; at this time, he was trailing. However, it sounds like Tillis won't be in a position to finish as strong:

LA-05: Well, McAllister himself doesn't seem to be involved here, but he sure could have done without this press:

NC-06: Not uncommon for anti-establishment candidates, Mark Walker doesn't seem quite ready for prime time yet. In a debate during the primary, he suggested the US should launch air strikes over Mexico:

LA-06: CNN interviewed Edwards.

More LA-06: In a blow to Graves, Baton Rouge Republican Committee gave a triple-endorsement to Claitor, Dietzel and Whitney. I can understand why it would support Claitor, and even Dietzel, but Whitney too!? She's reportedly one of the national committee from LA, so that may have played into it.

LA-Sen: Landrieu secured the frat vote this weekend! This is my favorite photo op of this year!

People who are acting like this is a bad thing obviously don't know how tailigating at LSU works.

NC-Sen: Rothenberg says many Pubs are increasingly skeptical of Tillis (raises the possibility of NRSC triage), but still competitive.

LA-Sen/LA-06: Though the LADP, controversially, endorsed Edwards, Landrieu was careful to keep him at arm's length when asked:

Even without Edwards' criminal history, I somewhat doubt she would be that supportive of him anyway. They've had a standoffish relationship since Edwards tried (successfully) to torpedo her Gov run in '95.

NC-Sen: In some good news for Hagan, EMILY's List is stepping up its efforts in NC. Between mailers and ads, it plans to spend $3 million against Tillis.

LA-06: Navy veteran Norm Clark (R), who was not a major player in this race, suspended his campaign and endorsed Claitor.

NC-Sen: Here's a decent interview with Haugh. He actually was the Libertarian nominee in 2003, also, but only finished with 1.5%. A few things have changed since then which suggest he'll make a much stronger showing this year: 1) Libertarians, and Unaffiliateds in general, are the largest growing segment of the electorate 2) he wasn't running against two unpopular candidates back then.

LA-05: The Duck Dynasty clan has a radio ad for Dasher.

NC-Sen: Jeb Bush is supporting Tillis in Greensboro.

^ Yeah, shame on Landrieu for endorsing that kind of moral depravity!

Last time I checked, Cassidy was the one with the knocked-up teenage daughter.

This has to be hands down the best and most hilarious political happening of this cycle.
