Fleming has sent out releases criticizing Landrieu for her vote for the Senate Democratic budget. The Times-Picayune suggests that saber-rattling means that he's getting increasingly serious about running.

Other than his criticisms, there was this bit about Fleming:

Landrieu is cowering in fear I'm sure.

Former Ambassador to Denmark Jim Cain is strongly leaning towards a run against Hagan.

Who would be the best person for Hagan to run against?

I am guessing Tillis or Foxx.

Tillis, Foxx, or a non-entity like Cain.

Jindal is massively unpopular, and Landrieu the opposite. If he gets creamed in a Senate race in Dark-Red Louisiana, he can kiss any sort of relevance goodbye.

What he could do, if he wanted a Senate seat, is to take Vitter's when he likely runs for Governor.

On one hand, a tough primary could hurt NC Republicans. On the other hand, Tillis is probably not the best candidate they can possibly get. Not the worst (That'd be Virginia Foxx), but mid-tier at best.

Move over Illinois Democrats, the NC GOP has taken all of half a year to prove themselves as the most disgusting state party in the nation.

PublicPolicyPolling ‏@ppppolls 17 h
Bobby Jindal's poll numbers in LA look like an even bigger disaster than they were 6 months ago- terrible approval, no support for 2016

Miles will really be happy!!!

This is even worse:

Ouch.

Who is Nick Saban?

Coach of the University of Alabama football team. A team that isn't popular in Louisiana, to say the least.

Well if another Republican wants to enter the race, Cassidy has given them plenty of reasons to run against him.

While it's been previously revealed that Cassidy donated to Landrieu and Kathleen Blanco nearly a decade ago, it's now come to light that Cassidy donated $1,000 to Ami Bera in 2010 during Bera's first run against Dan Lungren.

Ellmers has always been someone who just happened to luck out in 2010, then got redrawn so she can never be kicked out.

Sabato has moved the Senate races in Louisiana and North Carolina from Toss-Up to Lean D.

He also moved Georgia from Likely R to Lean R.

Reminds me of the position Romney was in back in 2008. Romney could win IA and NH, but only so long as Fred/Huck/Sam stayed in the hunt in IA and both Rudy/McCain stayed in NH. Of course that didn't happen and Romney lost both states after Huck rallied the socons and Rudy embraced his FL plan.

That said, I am not that certain her fate is quite as much in other people's hands as that scenario.  I do agree with the narrative (shocking, a media narrative is right for once). She really should not have voted for the immigration bill and neither should have Pryor. They gained nothing from having 68 instead of 66 and it would give them a chance to prove their independence. Now you got double instances of "Every Democrat voted X and You Would Have Wanted Y" (Triple if you include the stimulus, though I don't think that has as much pull now asi t is less current).

Ah, but Tillis didn't even end jobless benefits for those whiners. The legislature merely reduced the duration.

And after the duration, the benefits end.

Baucus' resignation might help in Louisiana.

Baucus' chairmanship of the Senate Finance Committee will fall to Ron Wyden, who is currently chairman of the Senate Energy Committee. When Wyden moves, Landrieu will be the new chair of Energy.

Because she's a Democrat in a winnable seat.

It's the Koch Bros., they're not giving out money because they think Thom Tillis is a nicer person than Kay Hagan is.

LA-GOP Chairman Roger Villere is asking McAllister to resign, but says McAllister is dodging his calls.

I'm sure these calls for resignation are motivated purely by moral objections to what he did, rather than hoping this gives Neil Riser or whoever a second chance at a Congressional seat.

They can always run against him again. Filing deadline's not till August.

Yes but it's always easier to make it an open race.

Tillis is skipping another debate, but this one is a primetime televised debate

I'm pretty sure Tillis thinks the other candidates are beneath him or something like that.

LA-05: Wow, we've got polling for this race. The most important thing here is that, my uncle, Chris Hazel, beats McAllister in a runoff! Grin

LA-Sen: Ugh. Keep Louisiana Working, a conservative front group, has a counter-ad running about Landrieu's 'committee' appearance in her last ad.

This really bugs me. I don't know why the Landrieu campaign didn't just use the freakin' original footage. There was no need to change it. The LAGOP went to great lengths in scrutinize every aspect of her first ad. Why would the Landrieu campaign expect anything different this time!?

It feels like its been like one step forward, two steps back this last week...

IIRC, it's illegal to use actual footage of House/Senate sessions in political ads.
