Happy birthday, BTRD!  Any super fun times planned for the occasion?

I'm working today. I'm kind of saving up my celebrating for the big end of the world party some venue is having on Friday.

We are both in the same decade of life. Smiley I actually define "old" as "when it's creepy/weird to go to the shows/clubs I do"...meaning I'm still actually quite a few years away.

when BRTD turns 30 I will seriously have to re-evaluate the narratives I let govern my life.

Such as? I don't think using BRTD as a barometer for life's narratives is the best idea.

Don't worry! Eventually you'll reach 60, and then it'll stop being weird because you'll be a friendly old man to talk to all the youngs and reminisce about the good ol' days.

This is one of the most accurate posts in the history of the Atlas forum. It works on so many levels...

I'm not quite sure I follow that. Some elaboration would be cool.

But as for how people over 30 can act: A few months ago at a show I got a flyer from some guy for a show he was playing later. It was actually a joint birthday show for him and the drummer of some other band. He was turning 32, she was turning 24. A couple weeks later I was at another show where he was as well, and passed a joint around with some 22ish girls outside the venue where cops were visible. Then I got a flyer for his show in a few days, where he said one of the songs was about a friend of his that was offered a much more high paying job but he advised her to turn it down since it would have regular random drug testing and she'd have to give up weed, basically don't give up what you love for society.

So...make whatever of that you want.

No I can follow it, just not entirely sure what is meant by "narratives that govern my life".
