Re Piers Morgan - we already know about him being 'total sleaze' (there are certain allegations re phone hacking that I won't go into more detail of here because I don't like libel suits); we had a joke in a recent spoof cop drama about his image making people throw up.

Piers is at his best, IMO, when he's doing one of his softball style interviews. That is, bringing up topics for discussion that are semi-relevant or relevant with people who might be of general public appeal. But when he decides he wants to debate someone, he usually either embarrasses himself, or the person he is interviewing embarrasses him.

That's probably because Larry Pratt is a literal joke, who is completely unable to make an argument that more than 2% of the public will agree with. No wonder why he gets booked so much on shows.

Ventura, meanwhile, says some things that I don't agree with. But he makes his point well (if only sometimes dishonestly -- a trait rare with talk show guests), and he backs it up with some actual intelligence.

I don't really care how crazy or marginal this dude's position is.  He was making a calm, reasonably intelligent argument for it, and the response was absolutely insane.  If his argument was so crappy, then no half-competent person should have to resort to what Piers Morgan did.  I don't care how much of a "total joke" he is, 'debate' like this is destructive bullsh**t.
