http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_hardcore

The article doesn't mention it, but it has a distinct sound to it as well, Christian hardcore bands for whatever reason tend to be far more moshy and breakdown driven than secular hardcore bands. Lots of very muchso non-Christian bands sometimes get mistaken as Christian just because they have that type of sound. For example this song is easily identifiable as Christian even if you're not aware of the lyrics.

Ahahahahahahhaa, lol no. Not even questionable. As if the name wasn't obvious enough.

My damnation
Follow me to the depths
My damnation now
My damnation
Cleanse my soul of sin
Oh god please save me
Cleanse my soul of sin"

Oh, there's quite a bit. Even Townes Van Zandt wrote and recorded at least three in-your-face Christian songs.

Somewhat to the bewilderment of many of his fans and many of those who knew him well.

Probably something in the area of 3%, the bulk of that being country and bluegrass. As for anti-Christian music? That'd be more like 20-25%. Evil

Aye, me too.  I've got a few J.Cash songs that if aren't technically christian, might as well be.  But I've certainly got a lot more songs referencing Christ going the other way.

I like 16 Horsepower, a band from Denver whose leader's grandpa was a Nazarene preacher. It can be found religious imaginery -I adore it-, conflict, redemption, punishment and all of those stuff in the lyrics... If you have heard Nick Cave, specially his first albums, you'll get an idea. Call them Christian Rock band and they'll spit you in the eye. Wtf is Christian music?

I was going to say zero, but I do have "I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City" by Harry Nilsson.

The percentage still rounds down to zero.

Well, I have a lot of Sufjan Stevens and J.S. Bach if that counts.  And a few other scattered masses, requiems, etc. from the classical world.

Probably 85-90%.  It would be 100% if it weren't for the secular Christmas music.  The only secular non-Christmas music I listen to are Oldies.

I listen to primarily hymns and contemporary Christian (praise & worship style).  I don't listen to Christian rap or hardcore.  The heaviest bands I will listen to are Toby Mac and Skillet occasionally.

Just for contextual purposes, Skillet is about as heavy as a puppy snuggling with a kitten.

This is what can happen when a potentially Christian* band plays in your basement:

I wonder if Bushie would appreciate it.

*I don't know if they actually were Christian but:
1-They sounded Christian. Their breakdowns especially.
2-They were all straightedge and weren't drinking that night even though it was NEW YEAR'S EVE.
