I don't follow European politics that much, but I'd still probably be in the big tent leftist parties in most countries.

The European party that represents me most is probably Switzerland's Christian Social Party, but my knowledge of foreign political parties isn't great by any means.

I'd generally be a Christian Democrat or social liberal in Europe so it really depends. In Britain and Italy I'd definitely be left-leaning, while I'd be more of a centrist in Germany or Scandinavia.

I'd support the Greens in countries where they aren't horrible, but I'd prefer social democrats to right-wing parties virtually everywhere.

This is mostly where I'm at, though in Scandinavia I would also consider the liberal parties.

We got a lot of people in self-denial, it seems.

How so?

Anyway, I'd probably support the center-left parties, sometimes being tempted by parties such as Die Linke or the Front de Gauche.

Ressurecting.
Surely there must be more people American Dems who'd consider themselves moderately conservative on a first-world democracy scale.

lol give it up. The only Democrats left supporting right-wing European parties these days are the likes of Walter Mitty and GMB.

Just trolling.

Seriously though, this thread is comparing Apples and Oranges.  "Conservatism" and "Liberalism" are different depending on the culture.  I mean, how many people in Germany like to go to shooting ranges on Saturdays and unload fully automatic rifles at dummies?  What is the legal status of abortion in Ireland and Poland?

A much more interesting thread I believe, and one that wouldn't be comparing bread to saltwater, would be to ask liberals/Democrats which party they would be supporting if Reagan's Revolution failed.

European countries tend not to have parties appealing to my particular outlook. I would end up being a swing voter eying the liberals, greens, and democratic socialists in every election cycle.
