A would-be robber was shot dead by a person with a concealed handgun license outside a Metro PCS store in the 7400 block of Wichita St. in Ft. Worth on Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say Desmond Paige, 20, tried to rob a man using Craigslist. The would-be victim brought his gun to the sale just in case.

The man with the CHL was shot in the arm and the hand by the robber, but Paige was shot multiple times in the chest.

Police say it all started about 10:15 in the morning when two men stole a woman’s cell phone near 2200 Northeast 4th Avenue and drove off in a silver pickup truck. Police say Ramon Smalls was the driver of that truck and police say Smalls was the driver again during the robbery at the Burger King a few hours later. A family of three was eating lunch when police say Travis Trenard Harris went into the Burger King, pulled a gun, and stole their cell phones, but he didn’t get far before police say one of the victims pulled his own gun and shot Harris.

An Elkins Park man was killed late Friday after he forced his way into a stranger’s apartment in Cheltenham Township.

The male of the couple ran to get a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle and insisted Brisbon leave. Brisbon refused. Instead, as the man yelled “Stop! Stop Stop!” Brisbon moved menacingly toward the man, police said.

BURKESVILLE, KENTUCKY — Authorities say a 5-year-old child in Kentucky shot and killed his 2-year-old sister with a rifle he got as a gift.

Local coroner Gary White tells WKYT-TV that the mother said she had been outside on a porch for “no more than three minutes” on Thursday when the shooting occurred.

White also told the Lexington Herald-Leader the boy’s .22-caliber rifle was a present and he is used to shooting it. He said the rifle was kept in a corner and the family didn’t realize a shell was left inside it.
