Here's a fun fact

http://www.shakesville.com/2013/01/number-of-day_9.html

643: The number of people in the US who have been killed by guns since the Newtown shooting.

Don't bore us with such details.

I am very annoyed with how the large shootings get all the attention. They're a tiny, tiny fraction of the gun violence problem in America. And all the politicians just noticed that we have this problem? Have they been living in a cave? This is a much more common example.

In the world of the immortal Three Six Mafia:

It's [inksed] up where I live
But that's just how it is
It might be new to you
But it's been like this for years.

But as far as fools with guns causes problems versus person with gun saves the day, it would be nice to have some stats on both and it would be nice if people could acknowledge that both happen. Vaccines can cause problems too for some people. It's basic epidemiology. Unfortunately, the NRA has blocked such research for obvious political reasons.

I can play this game until it gets boring. Doesn't seem very productive though. Nobody seems to care all that much.

It sure would be nice if the gov't were allowed to take a look at all these stats and make meaningful epidemiological conclusions. Unfortunately, that would be illegal. Who benefits from ignorance?
