Ignore Rand Paul and your own peril. I genuinely don't think that Rick Santorum hasn't the following that he would like to think he has, that is most of his support was the 'not Romney' vote. I think his chances of entering isn't all that hard. I also don't see any scenarios in which Palin would support big govt Santorum.
I'd say Rand could well eek out a win in Iowa, he also would pick up a good amount of support from the tea partiers in the house and senate members that Ron Paul never really had.

Can't wait for the primaries. Smiley
