Sorry for ruining your New Years Day, Nixy, but you'll have to start advocating for this one too. Tongue

Good lord, for whatever reason I remembered that postal service bill last year as having passed. If I'd remembered it failed, I would've introduced this before!

Of course, I absolutely support this, then.

15 years, Nix.  The reasoning behind this is simply to make it easier for the Postal Service to pay it off; I think 3 years isn't enough time.

I support giving them more time than just three years, but 15 seems like a bit much. How about just ten?

Don't you think 10 is also too many years? 3 to 5 is OK, IMHO.

Nay

A shorter period will help ensure that the postal service operates as efficiently as possible. I'll also take this opportunity to express my general support for this bill. Smiley

On the other hand, I worry that a shorter period might constrain quality and thus worsen the revenue situation by driving even more people towards alternative shipping methods.

Aye, but I could still be convinced otherwise at this point.

If I had checked, this could have been ended on the third as it was 2-6 then and even with mine is 3-6.

Is there going to be any relief from the 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act which forces the Postal Service to prepay employees' retirement pensions?

I was under the impression that this bill wasn't law in Atlasia; if it is, I'm in favor of relaxing its requirements.

It isn't; US law only goes up to 2004 (when the game began).

Oh.  That's good to know, then.

I would like to know why people find it so necessary to cut Saturday delivery when the long-term financial situation is taken care of in other parts of the bill that relates to internet purchases and deliveries (part 2, section 2).
