Oklahoma Congressman James Lankford (R-05) voted against the bill saying it does not address the national debt.

IT HAS PASSED! Thank Goodness! Smiley I hope my Rep voted for it.

There's a good chance mine did.  Jim Matheson (D) represents me!
How do you check to see?

Not sure, I'm just looking at the Democrats overwhelming support.

It will be here soon.

My biggest fear of the night was they wouldn't pass the Drywall Safety Act!

Tax cuts, spending increases, $4 trillion more to the national debt, and the can gets kicked merrily down the road.

How the heck does the inheritance tax always seem to get watered-down? You would think that taxing the money inherited by people who are often already rich wouldn't be as controversial.

Overall this bill had to pass but I am a bit annoyed at how it turned out.. I think we could have gotten a much better deal.

Hey now, that bill is very important to my state's delegation for some reason.  :/

I'm not sure what to think about the whole deal, but it was pleasant to see a bill with double-digit yeas and nays from both parties.  America was a better place when we had more of that.

a lot of folks just don't like the idea of cutting a family's property in half upon the death of a member, even if they are rich.

The three Congressmen who have represented me in my life (Jerry Nadler, Tim Johnson, and Dennis Kucinich) all voted aye. My future Congressman, Jim Renacci, voted nay.

It gets rhetorically constructed as a sort of punitive tax on having died. There's a fairly strong emotional attachment--which is also a cultural attachment, like most widespread emotional attachments of sufficient trenchancy--to the idea of uninterrupted inheritance.

The final vote list is up now!

My old Congresswoman Virginia Foxx voted Nay, figures since she has a Republican party position now.

My new Congressman Howard Coble voted Yay.

Here's a scary thought. If the House had the filibuster, this might not have passed as just under 3/5 of the House voted for it.

Every member of the Utah delegation voted against it, except for Hatch. Lee, Chaffetz, Bishop, and even Matheson voted against it.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Hatch is the only one with any sense in this entire group. At least my hatred of Matheson is being vindicated.

Yep, and it looks as if the final total is 257 in favor, and 167 against.

The votes against from the right wing of the Democratic caucus are just bizarre. These people are ostensibly moderates in the broader context, not mirror images of the Republican right wing. At least people like Becerra and DeFazio and whoever else were clearly voting against from the left.

Minnesota went 4-4, though one of the nays is outgoing. Cravaack, Paulsen, Peterson and unsurprisingly Bachmann voted against. The rest of the Democrats and Kline voted for it.

Peterson falls into the category Nathan mentioned above, which I have to say yes is quite bizarre.

Northeastern Republicans stand out. The only Republicans from anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon Line and east of the old Northwest Territory to vote against the deal were Guinta and Garrett. The only states with multi-member House delegations to not have any votes against were Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, and Hawaii.

House delegations, multi-member or otherwise, in favor of the bill were Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington, California, Alaska, and Hawaii. Delegations against were Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Oregon. New Hampshire, Kentucky, Minnesota, Arkansas, and Idaho tied. Notably, all of Oregon's votes against were from the left!

Here's a map of the vote from the NY Times.

Alexander was the only Republican from the LA delegation to support it.

'Looks like a majority of the Blue Dogs voted Yes but McIntyre, Matheson, Peterson, Cooper and Barrow all stand out as Nays.

Kind of beat to it by the Times, but here's a map based off the state delegation lists provided by Nathan.

Interestingly, a majority of Democratic Representatives from the Northwest voted against (5-4).

Mine (DelBene) voted for it, though.
