Simfan have you seen this old thread, I like it:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=99430.275

The 'what're you wearing thread'.

I have many cardigans, all bought second-hand, including one with a swastika on it.

I like them well enough, but plenty of them are too clunky/chunky looking (big arms, excessively tapered, etc) - depends on how they're cut.  Generally I prefer the really old ones I used to find in the thrift store around 15 years ago.

However a nice cardigan does beat a hoodie, I'm afraid.

Well, I think that cardigans are just very very versatile, they can bee worn over a shirt or t shirt, under a sportscoat or suit for a more casual look. I really like them. I think I'm going to get some more at uniqlo when I get back, if I can budget it, I'll go for a little shopping spree there.

I really don't like cardigans under a sport-coat.

I really like uniqlo, it's high quality stuff for good prices. I have a good peacoat from them, and then a nice pair of corduroy trousers. I'd like to get another cardigan or two, a jacket, some sweaters, I don't know.

uniqlo is rad, I love that store.

Ugh, you guys talking about that awful Japanese store?  Can't you find stuff second hand?

I wonder how much, if any, overlap there is between participation in this thread and the 'sports threads' (I think there are some, I've never opened them).

I go with what is comfortable;band shirt, unbuttoned flannel, shorts and skater shoes.

No trousers?

Aren't there loads of cool fads from prior centuries just as cool as the neck-tie?

This thread is an embarrassing circle-jerk of elitist hyper-consumerism and pretension and should probably be locked. I'm willing to let someone take up "ownership" or whatever before I do, though.

I thought elitist hyper-consumerism and pretension was your forte, Simfan?

You seriously have the most bizarrely obsessive mind I've ever encountered, BRTD. I wear a sweatshirt literally every single day and I couldn't care less. You seem emotionally involved with sweatshirts. That's extreme.

You mean a crew-neck or a hoodie?  Because - after all most crew necks are not very comfortable and don't look that good - you'd be better off with sweaters.
