Christe's rant may endear him to the public because ripping on congress is one of the safest possible things one can do, but what does Christe want here, the house to pass the pork-loaded senate version or the house to pass something else and have it just expire anyway before the senate takes action? Sure this all should have been done weeks ago, but the fiscal cliff saga/drama took every ounce of congressional leadership available to get through, so now he goes on national tv and throws a fit because is voting two days later on money that wouldn't be needed until March anyway. Maybe I'm wrong but this looks to me like a cheap shot to score political points.

The "pork-loaded" Senate bill had $600 million in other provisions out of $60 billion, i.e., 1% of the total.

Maybe wasn't loaded but still totally inappropriate to include in this.

Why is the house version sooooooo much smaller if the Senate bill was 1% pork?

Yes I am!  Cheesy   If we accept b33's statement as fact, and I do, the house version is providing far less aid.....and perhaps justifiably so in some instances, but it's a huge difference.....why?

Thats what Christie does he is blunt maybe sometimes way too blunt for his own good. He says how he feels and thats it. If the voters don't like it I guess they shouldn't vote for him. I was surprised though when he attacked his own party though I have to say.

Now Schumer is claiming Issa is just making up the pork argument because Cantor supposedly offered an amendment to strip the bill of unrelated spending (which is what should have been done). If that's true, Boehner and Issa have some explaining to do because a vote should have definitely taken place if that amendment was included.

I completely agree.  And I'm having a hard time finding the bill.  None of the stories on this include the bill designation, so if anyone knows, I'd appreciate it being posted so I can read it.

You rang?

I was being serious... don't waste my time with that crap.

Sorry, I was obviously thinking of something else.

I think this is what you're looking for.

Didn't mean to snap at you... yesterday was a bad day.
