Following the debacle of the Douglass years and winning of the House and Senate in 1890, it looks like Democrats may just return to the White House.

Former President Grover Cleveland: looking to redeem his political legacy in contrast with the volatile presidency Douglass has had, Cleveland is once again seeking the Democratic nomination for President.

Senator David B. Hill of New York: Despite having served as Cleveland's Lt. Governor back in the early 1880's, Hill and Cleveland are ill at ease with each other, Hill having launched a challenge from Cleveland's very own home state. Hill's record includes signing a bill establishing a forest preserve in New York while Governor.

Governor Horace Boies of Iowa: A populist in respect to monetary policy, after all, he is from Iowa, Boies nonetheless left the Grand Old Party long ago when they began becoming the party of "prohibition and protectionism".

Senator Arthur P. Gorman of Maryland: A Bourbon Democrat, Gorman is nonetheless also a protectionist who supports industry in his state and has clashed with Cleveland in the past.

Hill made a forest and killed a guy. Not a real Presidential record. Boies isn't really notable either, though I admire his anti-Prohibition, anti-tariff stance. Gorman is basically the same as Cleveland but is a protectionist. Cleveland shall be the once and future President.

Cleveland once more.

If it's a McKinley vs. Cleveland race, boy, I'll be very undecided!

Are you keeping track of these results anywhere? I haven't followed this series closely, but I'd enjoy reading a summary timeline.

You can find all of the election results Here.
