Russ Feingold.  So sayeth the soothsayer King.

I have gone through all the potential Democratic bench players and determined that all of them suck, just like the Republican bench for 2012 sucked.  Thus, you must reach into the defeated has-been jar like the Republicans did with Mitt, who almost won despite sucking himself.

The climate of 2016 will be good for Democrats, Clinton and Biden will be too old, and he will be just right.

Probably. It won't be Hillary. She won't even run.

I guess I could see Feingold the black horse riding in and upsetting in a couple of states, but probably not out right winning, in true Santorum fashion.

However, may be Santorum was a one-off affair.

If he manages to defeat Walker in 2014, I could actually see it. That's 50/50 at best, though.

Good point: Maybe this is only a phenomenon that happens in the GOP primaries.

He's the best the Democrats could possibly field (better than all, maybe even with Schweitzer).

If Hillary doesn't run, you could make a great case for Deval Patrick.

Candidates from that big state next to New Hampshire tend to win nominations, and he would also appeal to the people who voted for Obama in the 08 primary.

I don't see anyone who lost their last election in a state that slightly favors the Democrats winning the party's nomination.

Russ Feingold is done with politics, he just has his grassroots activism/lobbying organization now.
