Not just a prude, but a thin skinned smug prude. I wish him well, but I don't think we'll ever get on well. And I find Marokai's incessant public creeping of him distasteful. But that's not his fault. Or is it "her" fault? I have a great deal of trouble with this grammatical matter.

Someone who probably gets plenty of guff for his gender identity here and elsewhere probably doesn't mind knowing other people appreciate him as much as others needlessly mock him.
If the whole gender identity thing makes his life difficult in the real world (and I have no doubt that it does) that's very sad indeed. However, I've not seen anybody mock him for that reason here, and I very much resent your implication that I have. Any disagreements that Mr Nate and I have had have been over matters of substance, not personal identity. I sincerely did not know which pronoun he (she?) prefers. I was trying to be accomodating. Perhaps I will not in the future if it is just going to cause so much trouble. And appreciation and creeping are two discrete things. I think we would all be wise to consider the difference.

I really like him and I agree there should be more people like him on here, but I was taken aback by his casual dismissal of my own testimony of personal ethics (and how people who don't believe in god can still find beauty and wonder in the world) but he did apologise so no scratches in the armour Smiley

I didn't know Nathan had changed gender. Female-to-male or male-to-female?

Neither, really. Male-to-exceedingly uncomfortable with most of the available categories.

To an extent, but the word is 'misandrist', not 'misandrite'.

memphis, the only person who has 'Nate' privileges is my best friend from high school. You are not my best friend from high school.

I have to say, I find the word "misandrite" much cooler than the word "misandrist".

opebo's knack for tweeking words and names to make them sound cool is something I've enjoyed for a long time.

Guys, I have to admit I knew very well it was 'misandrist', and I believe I've called Nathan that numerous times before.  But misandrite just sounded more the mot juste in context of his odd passionless perversions as discussed on this thread.

(no death points please - I don't consider 'perversions' a negative.  And btw, even though I consider Nathan horrible, I'm very fond of him as I am of all our grotesques).

I have to say I'm coming around to the word. It sounds nice, even if it's not perfectly cromulent. Reminds one of an Old Testament tribe. That hates men.

I have the exact same opinion of you, actually. If you get death points for accusing me of having 'odd passionless perversions' I'll be cross, since it's an entirely accurate statement.

Despite many areas where I we disagree, he's one of my favorite posters and seems (to whatever degree one can tell on a forum like this) to be a great guy. FF.

He shows up topless a little too often, expecting us to applaud his pierced and tattooed torso.

Otherwise, FF.

The Dukes of Norfolks, ahem. I was referencing a particular joke from Downton Abbey.

But anyway, how am I being vulgar? I'd make that my signature if not for the picture already there.

Asexuality doesn't present as very threatening. Most of the time it's just invisible.

Nathan- well, he's a lot smarter than I on many things, including but not limited to, religion, philosophy, feminism, and Japanese culture.
