Pakistan, Pakistan... I am about to propose something crazy. Why don't we just neutralise their nuclear sites, and then let India just invade and foot the bill, as we then invade from the west? Obviously, that's a terrible idea, but Pakistan really shouldn't be able to do anything, ever. I'd be more than partial to letting this happen:

But seriously- what do we do about Pakistan, when they're obviously the problem?

No, Pakistan is merely one part of the problem. India is also quite clearly a major part of it (and probably the larger part in the case of Kashmir, frankly).

Not from my readings.  Pakistan has been sticking it's dick in Indian territory since they split up, how is the problem of India's making?

Really considering the circumstances during the partition and my general Indiophilia, I think all of Kashmir is by rights Indian, but then as I just noted I'm biased.

I think we can agree Pakistan does shoulder the greater part of the blame, especially nowadays.

Indeed, Al. Go ahead, fight our ignorance. Please focus especially on events after the LOC was drawn up. Thanks!

Hopefully Pakistan can (peacefully) be absorbed back into India one day.

Probably not before they fall into anarchy and an international coalition takes away their nukes , though.

If India is so essentially innocent, why exactly is there an army of occupation in the Kashmir Valley?

Because Pakistan would invade it immediately? They have been doing it since about a minute after independence.

So why do they spend most of their time shooting at the locals?

Certainly true back in the late 80's-early 90's....but is that true anymore? Unless you buy into Pakistani propaganda. Those people crossing the LOC into Kashmir are just a figment of our imagination I suppose.

In any case, I think we can all agree that Kashmiris should be given a choice to form their own country, no? That is what it looked like would be the case right after independence until Pakistan started their proud tradition of douchebaggery.

India isn't completely innocent, no, but it's the Pakistanis that have caused incessant terrorism in the valley and have ruined the place. What started as a local rebellion has turned into an ISI funded terror bonanza. This is why it is completely fair to say Pakistan should get most of the blame for what that beautiful valley has turned into.
