No - but not lolno.  A flat tax can be a serious proposal, with possible benefits to economic growth - and a number of countries have decided to go this route.  But at least in the US context, I don't believe it's the best option.  I think it makes sense for the wealthiest to pay a substantially larger share, so that those with lower incomes can keep more of what they earn, and have an opportunity invest it in making a better life for themselves and their families.  (That's not to say that the progressive income tax itself is necessarily the best way to fund the government.)

Normally a flat tax has a standard deduction, and thus retains some progressivity.
