Will he be on pills this time? Will be interesting to see how well he does when he's not just had back surgery.

If he runs at all. I for one doubt it. But yes, he's properly medicated now. Still doesn't fix many of his performance issues, and the competition would be first-rate and a full generation younger.

What will Republicans do if their 2016 slate turns out to be Perry, Santorum, Bachmann, Cain, and maybe a few new guys like Allen West and Paul Ryan?

In that scenario, they'd presumably nominate Ryan.  Though my guess is that either Christie or Rubio will run as well, if not both.  And Jindal looks extremely likely to run as well.

First they would have to take pay cuts. Then they would have to pay the brutal sales taxes that Texas imposes. They would have to consign their children to propaganda mills called Texas public schools  where they would learn that the Capitalist Class is beyond criticism but underperform the rest of America.  They would pay severe electric bills for air conditioning to meet the Arizona-like heat in an El Paso or Amarillo summer, Florida-like heat in a Houston summer, or some alteration between them along the I-35 corridor. They would find rural Texas and even some fairly-large cities as cultural deserts.

Add to that they would face for all practical purposes a single-Party political order that gouges taxpayers to supply capital for "public-private partnerships" that private monopolists wax fat.

I would love a sequel to that disastrous New Hampshire speech.
