Well, anyone think of any better numbers? Anyone care to review this and see if there are any problems I missed? Should I seek assistance professionally because I am always talking to walls here?

Citizen Commentary:
Are citizens allowed to post in Senate threads? I'm not sure. Anyway, personally, I'm not a fan of making the tax code more complicated if it can be avoided. Instead I would like to see the requirements for becoming a teacher raised, and pay increased, both to reflect the stricter standards and to make becoming a teacher attractive.

As a former Senator you should of course know that the answer is yes. Tongue

As for the tax code, my preference would be direct pay increases, hence why I shaped Clause 4 like that. The tax code provisions originated with Simfan's original text and I am hessitant to waive through a considerable change to that portion, without his okay. Now if six Senators prefer your idea (and even I do to an extent) irrespecitve of Simfan's wishes, then things will turn out to your satisfaction of course.

I usually prefer to avoid working through the tax code but this is a case in which I would prefer to make an exception. Increasing teacher pay just isn't easy for the federal government to do without risking saddling the regions with an unfunded mandate. I am unlikely to support Napoleon's amendment for this reason.

I already changed my amendment. Smiley

Also, do you have any specific new requirements for certification in mind?
I won't address the first part of you post since Napoleon already changed his amendment, as he said. As for the second part, I admit that I will have to do more research since I am unfamiliar with the requirements that Atlasia currently uses, and if or how they differ from the requirements that the United States uses.

Did you pull that out of a list of generic lines to copy and paste into bill threads or something? Tongue

Yes, I have it in a notepad file along with "I understand the reasoning behind this bill, but I don't think it's a good idea and won't support it", "No objections", and so on.

So you have a ton of notepad files, too? Tongue You ever have it insert triple spacing into stuff you copied and pasted from off the web?

It probably isn't worth much now, but I had voted Aye right at the last minute and I got some kind of weird error and couldn't get back on the site until after the time expired.

I would hate to lose this bill after working on it for so long (so long that its original creator is not only departed from our midst as a Senator, but has also departed period...forever! Well, as far as the forum is concerned anyway).

Vote on amendment 53:35

Aye (2): Ben and Napoleon - weird combination
Nay (3): HagridOfTheDeep, Oakvale, and Spamage.
Abstain (2): Averroës Nix and jdb

Didn't Vote (3): Franzl, JulioMadrid and NC Yankee - You people suck you know. (Yes, I do see what I did here, I am not that tired anymore. Tongue)

The amendment has not been adopted.
