On one hand, you have populist William Jennings Bryan, campaigning once again on silver and such. Other than differences on currency, he and President Weaver have been valuable allies to each other. On the other side is hero of the Spanish-American War George Dewey. The Spanish-American War was a war that took place in Cuba in which America, horrified at what, according to the Hearst newspapers, Spain was doing to its subjects, was able to wrest independence for the nation. A very successful war, nonetheless, some have cried that it was imperialism, despite President Weaver not taking the chance to seize multitudes of other Spanish colonies and possessions. Dewey is running as the war hero (with the backing of some Bourbons) and Bryan as the party's great legislator.

As usual, voice any preference for a Vice Presidential candidate.

I voted for Admiral Dewey. General Nelson Miles could make a decent vice-presidential nominee for the Democrats since it seems like the Spanish-American War has still occurred. The party may as well try to run with "military heroes". General Fitzhugh Lee could also make a good running-mate if Weaver still appointed him to be consul-general at Havana as Cleveland did IRL. Lee was not just the nephew of Robert E. Lee he was also a longtime Bourbon Democrat and served one term as governor of Virginia.

F--k, looks like it's gonna be Bryan vs McKinley. Terrible choices. I might vote Prohibition as a protest.

Bryan is a much better choice then McKinley. Also you'll only have to do it for one year as we get TR the next election!

Bryan is a much better slightly less bad choice then McKinley. Also you'll only have to do it for one year as we get TR Debs the next election!

I am quite looking forward to that.

I'll vote for Debs in future elections, but not against TR or my home-state hero Fighting Bob LaFollette!

Teddy is far too imperialistic for me.

I urge that everyone votes prohibition so we can move onto 1904 with a good slate of candidates.

I don't actually care who wins this election. I literally couldn't care less. Bryan's good. McKinley'll die and let TR win, and SCS would just be damn funny.
