HP. Took the nation to war with Mexico while lying about it, tried to provoke the UK in Oregon, and tried to buy Cuba.

I like his that he kept his one-term pledge, his hairstyle, and (though like is the wrong word) his cause of death.
That's about it.

FF even though I'm very curious about the "what-if" potential of a Utah under Mexican control.

They'd be even greater places without their resident Anglos, and cheaper to vacation to as well. Certainly even you recognize that - resident Anglos exempted - everybody lost as a result of that landgrab?

While some of his actions may seem morally questionable under a 21st century lens, America is MUCH better off because he was president. FF.

I lean more towards neutral than FF. I am glad America has Texas and the west. It happened, and it is going to stay that way. I regret the genocide of the Native Americans, but if I could turn back time, I wouldn't say "oh let’s just stay on the Atlantic Coast and never at all explore the Great Plains." And I must say, we may not have expanded perfectly, but we sure explored the vast interior our country better than the Belgians did in the Congo, the Portuguese in Angola, or the French in West Africa.
