I agree, so I chose Oklahoma.  Utah is definitely first world, as well, naturally.  Parts of Nairobi and Kisumu are second world while most of the country is third world, including the non-downtown portions of both cities.

Oklahoma, and the people who think Kenya would be a good idea, really need to spend more time in the 3rd world. South Africa is terrifying enough.

I spent a week in Kisumu, Kenya (western edge of the country near Lake Victoria and the Ugandan border) last March.  Downtown is definitely second world, but where I spent most of my time was definitely third world.  It really makes you appreciate everything you have in America or in Europe (or other first world civilization).  I vowed never to complain about anything I have or don't have again (something I failed at miserably).  I will be going back sometime this year and fully intend on moving to Kisumu in 2016 or 2017.

Bushie, you may want to look up what first-world/second-world/third-world actually means. Just saying.

Obviously, the first world option. So, Kenya. Tongue

Seriously though, as long as you stay in Salt Lake City, Utah is fine.

I'm going to travel down through Southern Utah on the 15 toward Las Vegas and Los Angeles this Spring.  I'm looking forward to seeing what's south of Provo.

I actually haven't gone south of Provo in my nearly 14 years of living in Utah, so I wouldn't know, but I do know that there's at least St. George in the southwest and the Navajo reservations in San Juan County, but I don't think there's much other than that.

That area is lovely, above all: Zion NP.

A very rare instance where I would vote for Utah. I would not ever want to live in Africa and I rank Oklahoma at the bottom of all 50 states. If it weren't for SLC, the options would be even more horrific.

Let's be honest guys, Utah is actually a pretty good looking place.  So yeah, I guess I'll go with that one, even with the Morons.

Hey, that's uncalled for. Stuff like that are why most Mormons aren't liberal, since secular-types (who I identify with as a religious liberal with a healthy belief in the separation of church and state) insult us all the time.

Here I was thinking that the Mormon church invested all that effort into Prop 8 because they hated gays. Now I know it's because they were upset at secular types for calling them buttheads and so forth. Gotcha.

That's not what I meant and you know it. What I meant is that many Mormons don't even take a second look at liberalism (and the socially liberal ideas that usually come with it), because the secular types (again, with whom I agree with) repeatedly insult Mormons with outdated (polygamy jokes) and offensive references. I'll be the first to say that Mormons are not saint (ironic, since we call ourselves that), and I don't agree with Prop 8 or any of the anti-gay stuff of recent years. I don't think we're moral giants, especially since we're still struggling with racism. In fact, I'd also say we're hypersensitive to criticism.

But that doesn't change the fact that in the media, it's acceptable to make fun of Mormons for being hicks, "crazy", racist (even though at least a minority of us are trying to change that) or whatever. Also, considering Mormons to be a solid bloc is dumb as well.

Utah because religious fundamentalism is worse in Oklahoma.
