I don't know why don't you ask Walter Cronkite, or Dan Rather.

Why? They don't work there any more.

Because Cronkite is dead, and Rather is old. Where else would she work (and get paid well)?

I'd rather not listen to someone who told the American public that the PATRIOT Act was good for us, and who lied about Iraq.

FOX, (MS)NBC, ABC, CNN, PBS, NPR, plus probably some foreign networks as an American analyst, tho I doubt PBS, NPR, or any foreign network would pay as well.  My point is tho, CBS is no longer what most people would consider a top tier news organization. (In college sports terms, CBS is equivalent to a mid-major conference, but not a BCS conference.) It still has a reasonably decent domestic news operation, but its foreign news operations are considerably diminished from what they once were and given her area of expertise, one would think Rice would want to be associated with a network that had a better foreign news operation than CBS does these days.

CBS news is not really the joke network anymore.  ABC is far more tabloidy.

Shame, I considered her classier than that.
