What would the election map be like if both of the presidential tickets came from the farthest extremes of the political spectrum?

Elizabeth Warren, regardless of what one may think of her politics, is 'respectable' in a way the other three aren't, so I would hope it would default to the ticket that's sort-of respectable as opposed to the one that's not at all respectable.

I would hope that too, but never forget horrible things happen sometimes...

I'd vote for Warren, and that's saying something.

Warren in a heartbeat, if this were the election tickets I think very few people would vote. This would probably result in a third party ticket.

The one elected to the United States Senate. I don't know why people like to entertain the idea that that Elizabeth Warren is some sort of radical extremist- she's not. She may be a solid progressive, and I'm very glad she is, but she isn't a radical. Something like Tony Stark/Dennis Kucinich would be more appropriate. Comparing Warren to Bachmann is deeply insulting.

As for the map, a bigoted charlatan and a war criminal versus an Ivy League professor and an esteemed liberal mayor and legislator? Acting like these people are remotely comparable is... beyond comprehension.

Anyone who thinks Bachmann has a shot at breaking 200 electoral votes in this scenario is either stupid or trolling.

Actually, Kucinich sort of ruined Cleveland and was palling around with Qaddafi during the Libyan Civil War. Hardly an "esteemed" figure. It's pretty telling how much liberals actually like the guy when he loses a primary to a fellow liberal. Kucinich is an embarrassment.

And Warren really isn't even in the same category as the rest of the nutters in this potential matchup. Seriously. And she wouldn't ever be stupid enough to pick a washed up embarrassment to the Democratic Party like Kucinich as her running-mate.

Warren wins easily.  Regardless of what you think of her policies, she isn't regarded by any major segment of the populace as a nutter like the other three and very few people vote the bottom of the ticket.  I also doubt the ability of any third party to organize enough to present a truly viable alternative.  Warren landslide.

No lie, I was kind of grasping at straws to try and find someone close to Bachmann. Looking back Warren's very reasonable, so this is an awful comparison.

In all honesty, it would depend ENTIRELY on the debates. You could see a strong Bachmann victory *hurl* if she beats a strong progressive in the debates and wins over independents. But if Warren wins... yeah, see above.

And come on, THAT's Warren's running mate? Warren's too smart for that. She's pick Julian Castro, or Hillary, or Crist. If you wanted another ultraliberal on the ticket for the sake of argument, go for Bernie Sanders or Al Franken.

If Hilary for whatever reason doesn't run, Warren will be the next president of the United States.  The totally irrational hatred for her on this message board (am I missing something she said that makes people here hate her so much?) is totally ridiculous and I'm sure that the majority of voters who are aware of who she is have a positive opinion of her.

A Democrat from a northeastern state who everyone here hates?

Elizabeth Warren is no more progressive than many of the new deal democrats from the FDR era, at least on fiscal issues. To say that her beliefs lie on the far left side of the spectrum shows how much both parties have become indoctrinated by the gospel of trickle down economics.

She's also respectable in a way that Bachmann/West are not. West called many of his house colleagues "communists" on several occasions. Somehow I don't see Warren calling Republicans a bunch of "corporate fascists." Kucinich drags her down though, not because of politics but because he's a crazy little man. Her ticket is way more reasonable so she wins, but expect a strong third party showing.
