Oh, come on. Florida is much more a microcosm of America than is Alabama.

Culturally, California (Hollywood, Silicon Valley, etc. are all based in California, making it the primary exporter of culture in the U.S.).

Guys, it is, as Ben Louden taught us - New York.  Follow the Money.  America is Wall Street, and the Twin Towers really were the symbol of the world-under-the-thumb.
