An interesting study shows they are almost the same percentage of the office corp as the services themselves.  I admit I'm surprised.  See especially page 3

In a practical sense it did.  Yeah there might not have women groundpounders, but they've clearly been involved in combat operations given that the face of combat operations has evolved greatly since 9/11.

I've always supported it, although my torts professor wrote a book on why women shouldn't be in combat.  I liked him as a professor, so I figured I'd give it a read over the  summer.

I'm not happy that we have anybody in combat on anything approaching a regular basis, but since we do the (spiritual, moral, physical) burden should be as equal as possible.
