Then again Texas isn't known for it's great musicians.
say what?! What kind of communist rags have you been reading, friend? Are you just ignorant or are you one of those Zef Side afficionados? I guess it takes all kinds.
Buddy Holly (who met his end in Iowa), Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top, which Musician Magazine once called the best guitar player ever), Janis Joplin (who was decent when she wasn't high on LSD), jazzman Gene Austin, and a whole bunch of quirky 90s acts that I've seen in Boston and San Francisco, not to mention Beyonce, Destiny's really real child. I'm sure there are lots of others that I'm not thinking about. I can just glance over at my CD rack and pick out about ten decent Texas groups on inspection. Tripping Daisy, Pantera, Reverend Horton Heat, Adam's Farm, Dread Zeppelin, Fastball. Even Don Henley. Yeah, I like Don Henley from time to time. I was a guitar player in a rock band for many years when I lived in Boston, and something of a jazz trumpet man as well, and have heard plenty of kick-ass tunes from natives of the Lone Star state. We all did. In fact, we used to call it Burrito Rock jokingly. Folks come from all over the country to attend the south by southwest festival in Austin, in case you haven't heard. I've been to two of them myself.
They're not all overweight redneck Meredith Brooks wannabees like that no-talent Kelly Clarkson. Educate yourself, man.
Ah, whatever. Anyway, I voted for Beyonce, but I didn't watch it. I just interpreted as one of the "which one would you rather do?" questions that we always encounter on this website. I figured it had to be Beyonce, no contest. Even if she did do the lipsync.
