Latham's campaign committee goes from "Latham for Congress" to "Iowans for Latham." However RPR cautions that nothing is finalized either way yet. So Smiley for now.

This will be an interesting test to see the power of conservatives. Do they opt for Mr. Electable or a true believer?

Latham: King's decision won't affect mine, we'll keep talking, way too early for a decision.

Karl Rove's new fundraising initiative, aimed at avoiding Senate candidates like Akin or Mourdock, seems dead-set on defeating Steve King in the primary.

Will this help Latham's chances, or will the Tea Party backlash against Rove be enough to give King an edge?

If they bait King then he will jump in. Stick to funnelling $$$ Latham's way in the GE.

I would go more with Tilt or Lean at this point, since we don't know what the climate will be like next year, but this is definitely an excellent development.

Branstad to Rove: O-U-T. Fortunately he's also mediating between Latham and King.
