After being informed that comrade Snowstalker has apparently talked with a less reluctant placeholder paper candidate in order to achieve ballot access, I am withdrawing from the ticket.

I will no longer be a candidate, nominally or otherwise, for Vice-President. Viva la revolution.

Comrade Maxwell shall be my running mate. The treacherous capitalist scum Oakvale will be among the first against the wall when my administration begins.

Ahmm, you know that there is just a council election in June? The next governor election is in August...

Anyway, I'm running for reelection to the Pacific Council.

Assuming DemPGH wins the Presidency, the vacancy will be there (don't know the rules over whether or not there will be a special).

Yep there will be a special, but the constitution states that candidates can declare only after the Pacific Justice declared a special election, 36 hours before this special election takes place.
This declaration is for the regular election in August.

According to the Intro thread, Council and Governor are elected at the same time, so it'll be held on June 12th

I'm not superstitious in the least, but I want to say, "Don't jinx me, guys." Tongue

Here's the relevant clause in the Pac Constitution:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

So, within six days following a vacancy the Pac. Justice says, "In three days there will be an election."

Otherwise, the next election for Governor will commence on August 14 (second Thurs.). Elections may begin any time on that day and end 72 hrs. later.

I am ending my presidential bid. Clearly the bourgeois electoral system is broken and the working class can only attain power through other means--this will be elaborated upon in due time.

Guys

2014 Elections Calendar.
Pacific Region:
February 13 - Governor and Council Elections
April 10 - Governor and Council Elections
June 12 - Governor and Council Elections
October 9 - Governor and Council Elections
December 11 - Governor and Council Elections

The last election was in April, this election is right before the Presidential election, we aren't having the Governors election in August.
