We should encourage such interest out of the gate by new players, not respond with hostility. He will have to declare again after April elections because of the two month rule, but aside from that I fail to see what the problem is.

I don't see any sort of hostility by anyone, to be honest.

For a newby, the sort of reaction here could be perceived as such though. And at the very least it was hardly encouraging. Tongue

Declarations cannot precede two months before the election. That was instituted to make it easier to keep track of who had declared for what.
