I'll be the first to admit I literally have no idea what the appropriate penalty would be here. Are there, er, very small logging companies that would suffer a blow from being find $5,000?

I second Nix's point, too - let's not create anymore bureaucracy than absolutely necessary. We don't want to drown in a sea of red tape when all we're trying to do is get a few trees planted.

It's a...fairly tale so tragic, there's no prince to break the spell. My king is lost at midnight and its just the dust beneath my feet...You'll be countin on a miracle, oh darling you'll be countin on a miracle to come through...

Yes, I modified this one a little. For your sake, you might want to respond sponsor, before I get to the "less happy side of The Rising".

The Department of Agriculture is probably the most appropriate group to administer this so I support this.

Aye guess, but with some reluctance

1. I am uncomfortable with mandating something like this federally (yes, surprise, surprise I really am a regionalist damn it Tongue). On the flip side, I think that it is beneficial to the industry to turn lumber into a trully renewable resources in this fashion.

2. I am sure this is already in place, but a ban on logging certain rare species, especially those who have medicinal promise could be advantageous for many reasons.

Vote on Final Passage of the Forest Restoration Act of 2013:

Aye (Cool: Averroës Nix, Ben, HagridoftheDeep, jdb, Napoleon, NC Yankee, Oakvale, and Spamage
Nay (0):
Abstain (0):

Didn't Vote (2): Franzl and JulioMadrid - I'll let the denounciations slide here. If I was amongst them then I woudl consider it, because I enjoy the taste of pain almost as I enjoy the taste of hunger. Evil (Sympathy for the Devil is playing on the radio and that always inspires me to get disturbing. Tongue)

The bill has been passed and is presented to the President for executive action.
