According to that, Labor needs 51.2% 2PP to have a majority and Coalition needs 50.8% 2PP.

Funny thing, 60-40 gives 114-31-5 no matter the party.

As some of you probably know, Clive Palmer, Australian billionaire, has resurrected the United Australia Party (UAP), previously Australia's main conservative party from 1931-1945, and two Queensland state MPs have already joined.

They plan on running candidates in most seats, and their core policies can be found here:

Wow, that's absolutely useless. It's more than vague.

Which seat is Bill Shorten?
He gave a speech at NDP convention and he seemed a pretty good person.

As Smid said, it's Maribyrnong. One of the few safe seats. But would he want a poisoned chalise?

Who will be the next leader post-Gillard? Swan makes sense but he's in a lot of strife for re-election IIRC. I can't see the party going Rudd, Bowen's also in danger, Combet's from the Left, and as I said it'd be bloody stupid for Shorten to run.

Smith or Crean maybe?

Oh, I was just asking if he would stay in Parliament. He was good, but not impressive, I would even say boring, so, I sure hope than there is better leadership candidates.

Wouldn't Abbott becoming PM would actually be good for Labor?

Hope it won't hurt him politically. He seemed a good guy when I saw him making a speech in person. He even dared to talk of LGBT rights whne talking of the values of the Labor parties (when it's not clear within Australian Labor Party).

What a disgusting, political, inhumane, and vile piece of sh*t, Rudd.  Can't believe it's actually given him a boost.
I know I've asked this before, but why is Australia so f--king xenophobic?  And inhumane about it, too?  Does being from another country (especially where people are brown zomg they look different!) automatically make one a horrible person in the eyes of the Australian public?

Answer is simple. People are broke, they pay taxes and yet the government is saying them than yhey must pay more or they cut services. Obviously, those people doesn't want more poor people needing help, since the government will either cut more or raise taxes again.

Also, when you're unemployed, the last thing you want is more people seeking a work, since it's make wages lower and competition higher.

Doubtful. ABC feeds are unavailable outside Oz, dunno about Sky. You'll get live results, though the polls close in the wee morning hours Eastern time.

Antony Green often mentions the geolock is removed for ABC feeds on election nights, so you may be able to get that.

It's common use in elections through the world. Geolock isn't useful on elections. No exclusivity rights, nor property rights with other countries.

Yeah, I shared that on facebook.

Re: Beattie. I love the move, but I have no idea how locals will feel. Is he from that seat? If he is,  it's going to Labor. If he's not, it'll be a very interesting campaign.

He represented Brisbane Central and apparently live in the federal seat of Brisbane, too.

I think Shorten is the presumptive favourite, but there's a fairly long list of possibilities.

Frank Shorten was a guest speaker at the federal NDP convention in Montreal in April and gave a fantastic speech that was very well received.

Bill Shorten, no?
