I must say it is nice to be greeted with good news as I come here, as opposed to bad news like the previous several days, for a change, sbane. Welcome to the Federalist Party. Smiley

Well, there technically is now that 2016election has registered as a member.

Winfield was registered Republican a few years back as well.

On that note, Rowan Brandon was registered as a Regional Protection Party member from late 2013 until early 2014.

Generally there are various reasons why a Conservative party avoids the Republican name since the demographics that dominate the internet and this site, namely rich college kids, are not suited for bammer style Republicanism and newer members who are libertarian or moderate would be turned off by the name. I ran into this when trying to craft a At-Large coalition for JCL. I basically threw every Reaganfan type conservative that wasn't a libertarian (since shua was getting those) and maxed out around 12. JCL had more moderate voters like Spamage, Cris and Tmth bolstering his numbers beyond that thankfully. But it illustrates the numbers situation. Most all the activism on the right is from center-right members both in the Federalist Party and Civic Renewal, whereas two of the most conservative members in the game just deregistered. Evangelical Conservatives are 26% of the real life electorate, here is about 12% to 15%.

The left has avoided the name of their real life counterpart for three years longer then the right has avoided the GOP name. 2007 versus 2004 (or maybe 2005, it was before my time). JCP was ironic naming for seven years and since then Liberal and Labor instill notions of ideology or object to be obtained. For the right, Regional Protection Party was specific goal driven and Federalist also has the same effect via small f federalism (ie Smaller gov't, checks and balances etc) as well as carrying on the reverse history-theme naming of the Whigs.

Anyway I will halt here lest I piss off Griff for clogging his thread. Tongue

Not again MAxwell. Sad Damn!

This is why we cannot have anything nice in this game. Somebody always has to be a dick to somebody and they end up leaving.

Why can't everybody just respectfully disagree and this game be a whole lot better?

This all started with some tough questions on a policy matter. Suddently Deadprez is a puppet, I am a psychotic puppet master, and now someone has driven Maxwell to jump off a bridge.

Is there a reason that there is a waiting time to register here?

Back in the old days, sock making was more successful and didn't automatically lead to a ban. Kalwejt was never banned for instance and Hamilton made a sock and was not banned for that (he was later banned but not for that particularly sock). So it was probably introduced as a way to discourage to the creation of fake accounts to alter an election. OF course you also have to be registered seven days to vote.

PiT would no better as the change was made sometime after joined. At one time it was increased to as much as 14 days if I recall correctly, before being dropped back down to bring in new members. There was also a 75 post requirement that was likewise dropped.

Guys, Atlasia is over. I quit Atlasian politics a long time ago, and I don't want to be actively involved in the corpse of what was once a fun game. It's time for a new Mock Parliament. One where all of the new players get a chance to be equal to the old players in establishing a new nation.

There's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't have both games existing alongside. Some people are now focused on Mock Parliament, some on Atlasia and some active in both. I'm happy for those reviving mock parliament and hope they have a lot of fun.

The problem is that so many people declared "Atlasia is dead" without making a slightest effort to make things better. That's the easy way, which is also not quite fair toward those, who still wants to play.

I would prefer not to have this discussion occur here, though it is not like Griffin can complain unfortunately at this juncture (Sad), I must say I agree with Kalwejt on this point. We should have both games, consolidate Atlasia to compensate for the loss of players and then move forward with both strengthening each other with interactive diplomacy, which is the most novel concept so far.

After leaving the country in protest of actions by Dave and his team of litigation cherubs, I have returned.

I am glad you are back. Discovering your deregistration just minutes before I had to leave for work that day, was the tip off that something terrible must have happened and it only took a short look at the Atlas board to see it was Adam. Not a good day.

I moved to South Carolina. Hope, that is not a problem?

There is no limit on moves within a region, as far as I can recall.
