I've never watched the original, but I've been really enjoying this. Still, they kill off the most interesting and sympathetic character on the show? Ugh.

My main hope for this season (I think it may already have jumped the shark by killing off the cokehead Congressman last season, alas) is that Underwood's plots actually fail for once. Right now he's basically a supervillain.

It was hilarious when one of the McPoyle brothers shows up as the l33t hacker though.

The whole DEEP WEB plot was amazingly awful. I lost it when the l33t hax0r sent the journalist guy an ipad with the CGI monstrosity on it.

Anyway I'd put the first season at a solid B- and the second at a C. It's okay and watchable enough but hardly worth the hype.

Speaking of the blacks, I did enjoy the episode where they took us to the projects and Freddy's son was a one-dimensional gangster with anger issues who pulled out a gun on camera after a guy took his picture.

Wait no, that was also the worst.

The Freddy's subplot was awful. I hate it when stories insist on making every little detail into a plot point. Why can't some things just remain a part of the canvas?

Or at least if they're going to bother, why invest most of an episode in adding "depth" to a character and promptly write them out to show how Machiavellian your 2D protagonist is?

I actually highly recommend this show, I'd forgotten how hilariously awful it was.

I just watched the first episode of season 3. It was very weird. I would have preferred that they kept Doug dead instead of apparently setting some weird alcohol/drug/sex addiction storyline.

I liked it in Season 2 (I think) when the hooker was with her girlfriend or whatever and that guy was creepily watching through the window. True Atlas.
