As I believe Cathcon said in my poll on Vito Marcantonio, communist tool.  HP.

Eugene Debs wasn't a communist.
No, but he was a socialist, which is communism's next-door neighbor.  After all, the only major difference is communism is authoritarian and socialism is democratic.
But it's true.

So about Oldiesfreak being big on anti-racism...

I voted HP by mistake, because I thought you meant Congressman John Lewis.
I don't opppse him because he's black, I oppose him because he's a Democrat.

So you're going to disregard all the work he did for the civil rights movement and at SNCC for 25 years of service in Congress on your opposing team?

You're a joke. I honestly hadn't think I'd find an incident with a Republican that I'd be disgusted in more than when Krazen used the bombings on my city as political fodder, but somehow I have. Sure, I absolutely hate facing Mariano Rivera when my boys are facing the Yankees, but off the field, he's arguably the classiest player of all-time, and I'm sad to see him retire. He's against the people I root for, but I can still like him as a person. The fact that you don't proves incidents like Wallacegate's not about race. You just want to score political points.
No; I have much respect for the work he did for the civil rights movement, but considering that, it's amazing that he belongs to a party that included most of the opponents of the civil rights movement.  And he also compared John McCain and Sarah Palin to George Wallace (who was, of course, a Democrat) during the 2008 campaign: http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1008/John_Lewis_invoking_George_Wallace_says_McCain_and_Palin_playing_with_fire.html

Perhaps someone who was a leader of the civil rights movement understands the actual history of the civil rights movement better than some 19 year old kid reading things on the internet.
Believe me, I've read plenty of history in textbooks (even left-wing ones), and I think I have a pretty good grasp of the history of the civil rights movement.
This
So by that logic, since I've read a bunch of books on child soldiers in Africa, I am now an expert. To hell with college then, I'm going to the United Nations. Thanks, Oldiesfreak!
No, I don't mean just plain old books, I mean textbooks, written by experts in the field.  Even the most anti-Republican scholars have at least admitted to the Democrats' racism in the 19th century, even if they refuse to acknowledge it during the 20th.

Because the Democrats stopped being the racist party in the mid-to-late 1960s, think skull. They should admitted the early 20th century racism too, as the KKK endorsed Hoover.
The national Democrats did, but many of the Southern Democrats continued supporting racist policies after the mid-to-late 1960s.  And the KKK probably endorsed Hoover because his opponent (Al Smith) was a Catholic, not because Smith was more pro-civil rights.

It would essentially be a bunch of people blabbering on and making stupid remarks all the while, and accusing the straight men who actually sound smart of being the stupid ones.  Considering how wildly popular shows similar to that are (e.g. The Simpsons, Family Guy, SpongeBob), it might be a big success.

How can a show that's set underwater but yet has fire and a squirrel (Sandy) NOT be stupid?

The squirrel lives in a dome and has to wear an air helmet when not in her dome. The other aquatic creatures have to wear bowls containing water when they are in the tree dome. I figured this out at the age of three.

I'm a recovering SpongeBob fan.  Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's just stupid.

I get that, but the concept of a squirrel underwater is still REALLY stupid.  It also shows contempt for nautical folklore by portraying the Flying Dutchman as a pirate, when the actual Flying Dutchman of myth was a ship, not a person.

Also, everyone knows that the post-2004 seasons are not worth watching. Seasons 1-3 are delightful, though.

Preschoolers are typically not fluent in nautical folklore.

Republican voters (and especially self-described conservatives) continue to hate gays with all the soul and all their heart and all their might. The Republican politicians are indeed extremely annoyed. Their primary tool for getting workers to vote against their own interests no longer works in much of the country. Though it remains highly effective in other areas. But I have no doubt that they will continue to support oppression and indignity by whatever convenient means in the future. At the moment, it seems like we are returning to the ancient ballad of "States Rights." Why does that sound so darn familiar?
Maybe because Democrats used it to support Jim Crow.

Speaking as a social conservative, probably Jerry Falwell.  After all, his TV show featured several overtly racist and segregationist Democrats back in the 60s, including George Wallace.

Seriously?  PPP exaggerates Dem numbers early on.  They may be accurate toward the end of a campaign, but they overstate Democrat percentages early in the campaign.  I remember last summer seeing polls of the presidential campaign in several states that had Obama leading by a couple points, while PPP had polls with the same sample type in the same states that had Obama leading by almost double digits.

This is what finally made me put him on ignore. At least I can take solace in the fact that krazen's half-joking when he says this.
