I once had a twisted fellow associate at a law firm way back when, who said you know what the difference is between Jews and Baptists?  The Jews commit major fraud, and the Baptists commit petty fraud.

I am a mere conduit here!  Be kind. Please.

One of you tax guys may need to correct me, but I believe he will also be responsible for paying income taxes on the difference between what he owed and what the bank gets at either foreclosure auction or short sale. I think there was a temporary tax holiday on that form of "income" as so many people were already up a foreclosure creek with out a paddle a few years back, but I believe it has now expired. Better get a job for that if nothing else. The IRS is not nearly as forgiving as mommy and daddy. You don't want to owe Uncle Sam money you don't have. He gets very grumpy.

Ah debt forgiveness. Complex issue. But if he is not personally liable, and it is a purchase money mortgage, no, I don't think he has that issue, but I am not sure without looking it up. Given Jeff's income level, it is a moot point anyway. Another 10K to his income is that going to change his tax bill. It will still be zero, or very close to it.

All that Bushie did today was take another nap and watch some TV shows with his mom. He's obviously not interested in getting a job anymore, guys.

That's all well and good but he'd better figure out a way to get on the gov't dole then.

Aaaaand the Update is back right here.

All that Bushie did today was take another nap and watch some TV shows with his mom. He's obviously not interested in getting a job anymore, guys.

Don't forget that he watched some shows on the End of Times and sees a lot of similarities to now.

The main reason I don't feel sorry at all for Bushie's parents is they are a big part of the reason (if not the main part) why he is the way he is and have been encouraging his decision making to go the way it has every step of the way. Remember how every time he got told on the forum just how blatantly idiotic his next decision was he would respond by pointing out they were supportive. So him mooching off them is just the expected outcome and what they are responsible for.

Well, letting the house stand vacant is probably the worst decision that could be made. The obvious choice for the parents is to tell him he's got to move into it and keep it going, and they could help him make payments or whatever, but define some things he has to do. If that lifeline gets reined in, the survival impulse would surely kick in and he'd get motivated. But this thing's gone too far down the tracks, IMO - as I see it the angle is to move back with them for good. Too much reasonable advice has been ignored for me to think otherwise.

That's not who he means. Did you ever post here before under the name RickRoll? (I'm guessing you're gonna say you didn't.)

Wasn't RickRoll supposedly a college acquaintance of BushOK?

I've never posted here before.

I last saw him in the flesh in 2001, the year he graduated. I was surprised to find out that he went to college. I didn't know him well, but he said some bizarre things in class sometimes. He once told a history teacher that he should write a book called 'Adolf Hitler is the son of Abraham Lincoln.'

I do not recall saying that last sentence.  The teacher believed they were cut from the same cloth, but I never did.

Addiction can be a terrible thing Memphis.

That's true, but having Inks haranguing you is no picnic either.

yes inks can be terribly obnoxious with his 'drink tap water and work hard....' directives.

what bushie needs more than anything is a trip to the psychiatrist.  he is not mentally well.

I'm unlocking this thread to say this:  I have just officially applied for the US Postal Service.  This is my main goal.  Of course, I'll take almost anything, but the USPS is my most wanted prize. Smiley

instead of sinking a grand or more into a new ac for his underwater house, he should use it to get medical help.

No, my cousin has worked for the USPS for 8 years and is a letter carrier and he said that despite the mail cutbacks in August, they are still hiring.

Not really.  The internet destroyed the USPS along with government mandates.  It's not the fault of the postal service that they haven't been able to shrink to meet the new reality.  Even with the mandated requirements of Saturday delivery, being unable to set prices on their own, and an inability to close post offices that aren't being fully utilized, if it weren't for the mandate that, unlike the rest of the government, they fully fund their pensions they'd still be without immediate problems, yet getting there as the use of first class mail continues to shrink.
