Inks, a Suze Orman routine...  Telling him to work two jobs when he is struggling to hold one.

But he's not struggling to hold one because he can't work... he's struggling to hold one because he listens to the poor advice of his family and is impulsive and thinks things will always be better with the latest scheme.  That doesn't mean he's incapable of holding 2 jobs.

This can get me some infraction points but my general concern here is that Bushie is not in the best health. From the aggregate of everything he posted on here I would think he has some form of anxiety or mood disorder.  I think were he to get himself fit, he could succeed at one job and even two. Right now, not the one.  Life can overwhelm anyone and it can completely swamp those who do not look after themselves.

The lies, self delusional flights of fancy, and the bouts of depression are all very familiar and I don't think this is just me projecting.

Fair enough--he may not be in a position to take on 2 jobs immediately, but eating healthier and less would save his money and improve his health.  He could drop the pounds a lot quicker than his is (if he even is - it's been a while since that's been updated).

I will admit that there are times when I think I am mildly bi-polar.  I do tend to go from one mood extreme to the other in my personal life, often within a manner of minutes.  That may explain a lot of what has happened in the past and even now.  I'm too scared to go get tested for bi-polar as I know my ex-fiancee' Susan had to spend $3,000 a month for medicine if it weren't for her Medicaid.  I am also afraid that a bi-polar diagnosis would automatically condemn me to being a bachelor the rest of my life and dying alone.  Now, mind you, I am only bi-polar in private.  In public or even with just one other person in the room, I am very mellow and usually very kind and thoughtful.

The worst mood I have around others is just being a little cranky from time to time.

Jeff, listen, stop playing these infinite games of chess in your head. If x happens then y might happen and then z could occur.  It is exhausting.  I was such a drunk because I always did this to myself and getting blitzed was the only thing that settled me down. Maybe you find some comfort in food or the porn.
Take it one piece at a time. These swings are not doing you any favors and maybe it would help just to see someone and explain what is troubling you. There are some subsidized programs that could help. And it is a trained stranger, just unload all the freaking baggage in the world on the poor bastard:) You may not need any medication at all, I don't. Millions of people struggle with these things and there is nothing wrong with it.  If you broke your leg you wouldnt gimp around town, would you? Check out the Indian health care if you have to.  Best of luck.

This thread needs some serious opebo. I don't see his moving home as being all that horrible. It sounds as if he's bankrupted not just himself but also his parents with the whole Utah venture. The whole Brown clan has gotten themselves into this mess and they're going to have to work together to get out as best they can.  At this point the most pragmatic step for everybody is for him to move back in with his parents and contribute to their well being for a change. Not like he'll be the only 30 year old at home. This is the face of today's America. I just hope they can all get along reasonably well.  It will be a trying experience for everybody.

Unless things change, moving back among his enablers is the worst thing for him.

Christ almighty. I go away for a few hours and this happens? At this point, we may as well abandon this show. I want to help him more than he wants help, and that's never a good thing, he will go home, with his mammy, live with them, abandon anything good, relax, watch TV, eat fish sticks, the frozen kind, mind you, and be happy and fat. There is no future for this, no hope, the bloom is off the rose, and this story is heading right where I expected it to go. Le sigh. I thought maybe he had a chance.

Good Sunday Morning!  I've been doing a lot of thinking over night and I'm feeling more comfortable with this decision.  Sometimes you have to be broken of everything, including your pride, in order to build it back up quite nicely.  Yeah, its gonna suck for a while, but I have a good relationship with my parents, so we'll be fine.  I can assure you I am not going to stay there too long.  As I said, immediately when I get home, I will start looking for a job and hopefully find one pretty quick.  Sure, my job history sucks, but its not totally despicable.  While I am working, I will start the vo-tech program all the while trying to move up with the company.  I am aiming to be back into an apartment by my 32nd birthday.

So, I didn't read all of this.. but I'm just going to assume that Bushie was laid off, his parents were tired of supporting him and paying his bills, and nobody will clean his pleasure palace.

Actually, you are wrong on all three.  Tomorrow, I am going to attempt to put in my two weeks notice at Xerox.  If I am allowed to work two weeks, then I will be leaving on Tuesday, March 5.  If I am not allowed to work two weeks, then I will leave on Tuesday, February 26.

Jeff, my suggestions from yesterday still stand.  I will add that DO NOT JUMP AT THE FIRST JOB OFFER.  We all realize how important being employed and having an income is but you have to make a decision that will work and make sense.  The job hunt could take a little while longer: weeks or months.  Wouldn't it be better to find something that you can stay in long term: (years) rather than grab some job that will last weeks or months?
You identified last night that you can make these quick snap decisions and you then convince yourself that it will work out when all evidence points in the opposite direction.  Panic moves seldom work. Take some no stress part time job if you have to- just to have a little money coming in and get out of the house. You are only 30 and if you start playing your cards better a whole long life ahead of you. Forget about where you should be in your life and what you should have done. Start fresh, move forward, make new goals and start accomplishing them.

Thank you, Patrick.  I don't need and cannot afford to jump on the first job offer.  I need to find something, but something that will work.

At the rate you're going, you'll be lucky to make it to your 32nd Birthday.

Anyone else notice that Kenya has been pushed back further and further? First it was early 2015, then  2016, and now it's looking like 2018 at the "earliest." Face it Bushie, you're never going back to Kenya unless you escape the poor judgement of your parents and cease the whirlwind of bad decisions and listen to those in this thread that have not faced such abject failure.

I cleaned up "the palace" this morning. I really wanted to check it out. I did a pretty good job didn't I? I also slapped on a new coat of paint, in a cute red color. I love the color red. Smiley

Next, I am going to work on the landscaping.

I have pushed it back to 2016-2017 because the Orphanage won't be ready for me until then.  They have to build a volunteer home first and that won't break ground until 2015.  I have never pushed it back to 2018, you're mistaken.  I will be moving to Kenya.  I also do plan to go back to Kenya for a visit this June, depending on my job situation.  My thought is it would be better to go this June when I'm not really committed to a job rather than going next March when I'm fully entrenched in a job.  The trip is paid for, so I don't have to raise any more money, except for spending money.

Didn't you go once already with anonymous cash, or was that adventure not actually consummated? Sorry I have not kept up with all the plot twists here.

It hasn't been consumed, yet.  I raised the money for last March mostly on my own with the help of family and friends.  Thankfully, this money is good whenever I decide to use it, whether June, next March, or later.

Wow, I totally missed the part about the vagrants or teens or whatever having sex in the garage/shed.  That is hilarious!  It is funny to imagine people still mustering the energy to have sex while homeless in Oklahoma.

(I read that Microsoft has 6,000 job openings yesterday, and are desperate for skilled immigrants)?

Dirty bastards, they should shut that place down.

Unless you have legitimate children, it's hard to get a lot back on a personal return when you haven't worked enough to put much in. A few hundred dollars from the EITC and a few hundred more that he had withheld throughout the year.  What else is there?

Also, having a job and looking for a job are not mutually exclusive. Bushie needs an easy to get job for right now. Go work in a grocery.  You'll learn about food while earning at least some money. And then look for a better, more permanent job as well. You don't have the luxury of being unemployed right now. Also, unless you've been canned, why would a job not allow 2 weeeks notice? It's a courtesy to them, and most employers won't have kind things to say about you if you don't give it.

Public assistance? Be serious. He's a man without legitimate children, not a Fortune 500 company.
